I walked out into the hall, looking both ways on the right was a long hall filled with other identical doors just like mine. To the right was a was hallway with a door at the end. Turning right, a nurses satiation was held to the right also, and to the left another room containing numerous chairs and tables along with a large tv hung in the wall. Girls sat in small circles throughout the room. A sign on the glass window said "group room". "Maya you can go in their and with the other girls and wait for breakfast." I turned around seeing a burly man with thick dark brown hair dressed in dark blue scrubs. I nodded my head and looked back into the room. I stood in the door way, palms become sweaty as anxiety snaked its way up my body. I keep my head down, trying to hide from everybody to the best of my ability. I sit in a chair to the far left corner, pull my knees up to my chest and rest my head, and close my eyes, but before I do I spot a brown haired girl on the opposite side of the room glancing at me curiously.
"Maya, will you join us for group please" I open my eyes hearing a mans voice, looking up to see a him dressed in casual work attire. He looked around the age of 50, with gray hair, and heavy wrinkles on his forehead. "O-okay" I manage to choke out while getting up. I head over the circle of chairs and take a seat. I look around at all the girls. Some looked anxious, tapping their feet. Some looked terribly sad, with cuts and scares covering their arms, and some just looked stone cold showing no emotion at all. I see the brown haired girl again, the one I caught looking at me earlier. Faced sitting in the chair across from her, we both made eye contact. She had exquisite beauty, her eyes shined with pain and curiosity. For a moment I felt my self stop breathing as I took in her facial features. Snapping my self out of my thoughts I quickly avert my eyes the other way towards the old man. He sat down fixing the wrinkles on his button up. "Good morning everyone." He said smiling looking around the room. "For those of us who are new, im Dr. Francis one of the therapists here. In this group we start by saying our names, struggles and goals for the days. Alright? so let's get started. Maya would you like to start?"
"I'm maya, my struggle I guess is being here I guess. Uh I guess my goal for today is to just make it through the day."
Each girl went around stating their names and so on. The brunette went last, and smiled cheerfully. "My name is Riley, my struggle is not acting on urges, and my goal is to eat all of my meals today." Her voice was soft and kind. Her smile brightened the dimly lit room. Riley, so that's her name.
