29. Tranquillity

Riley's Bedroom-6:45 am

The morning shimmers through the gaping hole of her curtains. Confusion is sent through her body as one arm is draped over her shoulder and other snaked around her waist. Pressing her lips on his wrist. Twisting her body around to find her boyfriend sleeping peacefully as he cradles her like a teddy bear.

''Good Morning beautiful''

Trailing his fingertips through her chocolate locks as his breath trickles down her spine. Twisting her body to face him. A soft smirk curls across her lips. 

''Good Morning Handsome. How did I get here last night?''

Tucking her chocolate locks behind her ear, grazing his thumb across her faded freckles. A tinge of a crimson hue shadows her cheeks.

''Let's just say you were extremely overwhelmed and exhausted. I just didn't want to see you get hurt by your father because of your injury.''

Groaning to think of the wrath that she'll face from her father upon her eventual return home.

''You didn't have to do this. I can handle my Dad on my own. So, if you'll excuse me''

Grazing her fingers through his soft locks. Attempting to remove her petite frame from his grip.

''No''

Mumbling into the crook of the brunette's neck. Kissing along her accentuated neck and into her collarbone. Pulling her closer towards his body.

''We can deal with your father later. For now, you are going to stay here with me. I just want you to be safe. I don't want you to get hurt again. I'll always love you, Ri. Even if you don't remember how much I do. I hope, that one day, you can grow to love me again.''

Grazing her fingers on his jawlines and trailing up to his cheek. 

''I may not know if I love you or not right now. But at the end of the day, I'm going to want you as somebody important in my life. Boyfriend or otherwise. Thank you for sticking by me through all of this, I couldn't have asked for anything more. You're such a great guy Lucas, I just don't want to hold you back.''

Taking ahold her petite fingers, fiddling with them, absentmindedly.

''You could never hold me back, Riles. I'm always gonna stick by you. I don't care if you fuck up because I'm going to love you whether you do anything, good or bad.''

Kissing her temple, then her nose and then her lips.

''Okay, but I hope you know what you're in for when I let you into my life''

He knows what lies behind those mesmerising chocolate locks. But he'd never tell her that. He's gonna let her figure out what happened in the past for herself

''Believe me, when I say, you've been through a hell of a lot in the past 8 months since you got here. But I wouldn't take back any of this. Because that would mean that you wouldn't be here right now, in my arms. I'm gonna help you do whatever we can to get your memories back.''
