McCallister Friar

My new boss, who I must admit is quite attractive. I know saying this may count as a form of misconduct. We've been seeing one and other for a couple of months now. I have to say that I am happier now than I ever was with FP.

It's been 6 months since I abandoned the kids and honestly, I feel as if a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I'll always love them, with all my heart. But their father is what restricts me from returning. I don't want to go back into that toxicity.

Riley is a strong girl, I know she can handle this. I know Elliot can take care of his siblings. Jughead will protect Riley with all his heart. Josh will do great things in the world. And Auggie, he is such a beautiful little boy. I'll always love them, forever.

But it's time to move on with my life. Getting out the violent environment is just the beginning. I've always strived for success and to go for the best. Cutting ties and association with FP will only begin my new beginning.

To the person who finds this letter

I never expected my life to come to this. I never expected to be at the age I am and filing for divorce. But it has to be done, for the sake of both myself and our children.

I hope that one day I can cross paths with them again and explain my reasoning for leaving. But for now, I'll go away and live my life to the fullest and I hope they do the same.

Love,

Gladys

''Lucas is it possible that my mother is bipolar like me? Because it seems like one minute she's really hyper and happy for like a week, then the next she wants nothing to do with me. If she is, then maybe that's where I get that from. Maybe that's why our relationship is such a trainwreck.''

Lucas kisses the crown of her head and then her lips. Admiring her natural beauty.

''It's possible that her bipolar is genetic. But I know you, Ri. You've come so far since I've met you. You are perfect the way you are, don't let anybody tell you differently, okay. Our relationship is ours and nobody else's opinion is gonna matter but ours. I love you''

His finger tucks under her chin, raising her head to look into his eyes.

''I love you too. Thank you for just being you, I don't think I could be where I am without you.''

Kissing her forehead as she maneuvers into his lap.

''We may be heading for a bump in the road but, I know our relationship is strong enough to get through this.''

She's learnt a lot from this relationship. He's taught her how to accept love. He's taught her to accept herself. He's taught her she's worth more than she thinks. He's taught her that it's okay to ask others for help. She loves him so much and that something she's afraid of accepting.

''How're we gonna talk to our parents about this? Granted they actually wake up. I just don't want any secrets anymore''

Her arms wrap around his torso and vice versa.

''I dunno, but as long as I have you by my side, I'll be alright''

The doctor re-emerges from the room, causing the couple to snap their attention from one and other.

''Miss Jones and Mr Friar, I have updates on both of your parents and lets' I just want to preface this by saying, it's not looking good.''

Lucas clutches Riley hand in order to stop her tears from flowing.

''Go ahead, I handle it''

The emerald teen kisses her temple, holding her close for comfort reasons.

''Your mother and your father have undergone MRI's to assess how crucial their internal injuries are.''

The doctor flips his notes, facing the pair.

Miss Jones, your mother has critical injuries to her torso and ACL. Her organs shutting down and not responding to our medication. We're going to be monitoring her 24/7. This is until we can assess where to go from here. I'm very sorry''

He turns towards Lucas, his expression equally as devastated as Riley's.

''Mr Friar, your father has both internal and external injuries. His left leg is going to be amputated, he tore a part of his abdomen and his organs are slowly rejecting his body. We're still coming to a conclusion as to what to do now, but I will update as soon as we have information.''

As the doctor leaves, the couple rests in one and others arms, comfortingly.

''I'm right here Luke, I'm always right here.''
