''Grandpa!''

FP is currently making a visit to the Friar household for the family gathering later that day. Gladys and FP reached a mutual agreement to be civil with one and another for the children's sake. Creating a close bond with his grandson Alex, future son-in-law, Lucas and his daughter Riley during these visits.

''How are you doing, Bubba? Grandpa missed you!''

Smothering the young boy with kisses all over his face. This is before placing Alex on his shoulders.

''Hi sweetheart, Hey Lucas''

Kissing his daughter's cheek and shaking Lucas's hand. 

''So what've you guys been up to lately? How's my second grandchild doing in there?''

Riley rubs her small bump, just hitting 6 months and she's already prepared for this baby to come into the world. 

''They're doing well, I just want this baby to come already''

Resting her hand on the bump. The second-time mother to be grins at the thought of her baby to be in her arms in just 3 months time. 

''Can I talk to you in the family room, Dad?''

Riley kisses Lucas and Alex's cheeks before maneuvering herself and FP to the family room. Sitting on the main couch with a considerable gap. FP being the first one to break the inevitable awkward silence.

''Y'know when I first found out you were going to be a girl, I was so excited. Just the thought of having a special little girl of my own after all those boys. Even after all the shit, I've put you through, you prevailed and are a beautiful young woman and an amazing mother to Alex and this child to be. I just know that these kids are gonna have everything I couldn't give you. I'm forever going to apologise to you for everything I've put you through. I love you so much, baby girl. I'm always gonna love you''

Kissing his daughter's head as she wipes her tears away.

''I love you too, Daddy. Y'know after hearing your side of the story and hearing mom's side of the story, I understand why you guys didn't work out. But I think that over time we all learn a lot about ourselves and since I've been a mother, I know just how important it is to bond with your child. The first time I held Alex it was like my whole world just changed right then and there. I wouldn't be where I am today without you, Daddy. Sure you put me through some shit but that just makes me who I am. I love you too''
