Victory is ours today!  We have beaten the Persians under their king Darius in a masterful cavalry battle near the Granicus River!  I, being in the infantry, was not there, but I heard of it from my friend in the cavalry.  He said that the attack started with a cavalry charge by us one our left.  The Persians reinforced that side so that it was practically impossible to breach it.  We then attacked the Persian center with a triangle cavalry charge let by none other than Alexander himself!  Apparently, a group of Persian noblemen on horseback charged Alexander and his bodyguards and almost killed him!  Alexander survived and we routed the Persians and won the battle!  The noise of the cheering was heard all the way to our camp and we gave a huge victory cheer for our Commander and the Macedonian Calvary as they came back into camp after the battle.  What a day!
