[Skylark POV]
I can't believe it, that thing almost got me. My father, the king, suggested for me to try and feed it. He hates me, I shouldn't have tried. He was probably hoping that... that thing would've killed me.I walked swiftly back down the corridor, it had been a few days, and the creature hadn't been fed since then. I was worried it would starve, but I hated the smell of blood. I had a tray with an uncooked leg of lamb on it. As I approached the door, I noticed the guards weren't there. So I got more worried that the thing had died. So, quickly I threw open one of the doors. The light only went to halfway across the room. Softly, I made my way into the room, and set the tray down. Before quickly backing up. I didn't hear anything, or see anything. The room was too dark anyway.
I waited a few minutes before turning to leave, that's when I heard the chains rattling. I stopped in my tracks, feeling a breath down the back of my neck, I didn't dare move.
Slowly, I turned my head, my ocean eyed meeting those pale yellow ones. He stood before me, his arms being nearly dislocated at the shoulder just to get close to me. His arms being held back by those chains that dug into his skin. His legs tensed as he watched me, as if straining to keep himself that close. I backed up a few feet, and he seemed to mimic me, backing up a few feet as well.
He watched me. His golden eyes glittering in the soft light. "What's the matter? Did I scare you?" He snickered, his voice was ironically almost heavenly, soft yet coarse from the lack of hydration. His ears seemed to prick up when I didn't answer. "Cat got your tongue~?" He cooed at me, the way his voice bounced off the walls made him sound like he was right behind me. I shook my head softly to rid the thought of him freeing himself, and grabbing me... "No." I spoke sternly, my ocean eyes challenging his golden ones. His smirk faded a bit before he seemed to smile in a crazed fashion, making me step back more. "Are you sure~?" His voice having a hum to it as he pressed against his chains, he had gotten as close as he could. His chains straining to keep him there. His claws on his feet dug into the floor, his grin widening a bit as he watched me back up to the door before slamming it shut as I stepped through. "Creep." I mumbled as I walked away.
