People come and go like meteor showers
Some appear messy as they crash through the sky
With a wake of disaster behind them
But they don't stay for long
Their spark runs out just as fast as it ignited
They die out in a ball of fire
And leave the deepest marksOthers show up whitely and don't stay for too long
You don't notice them at first
But they keep you warm without you knowing
Once you see them, they're gone forever
It leaves a subtle mark on your skin
Something close to sunburn
They leave you wondering what could've beenBut then there are the ones that linger
They hover above and around you
They share laughs and tears
Love and heartbreak
Their come and go is uneventful
When they're gone, they're gone
Leaving only starry eyes behind themThose are the ones that don't scar, but never leave
