Lyra's POV
"Oh shit."
I turn to Cole and Eros.
"That's the last King's name. So why did she call me that?"
Cole starts speaking.
"It was said that his mate, the blonde, was killed in a battle. Her name was Fiona. It was said he went mad after that and started abusing his other mate. The other one was name Thea. Thea was said to have birthed a child, before she died after she gave birth because the old King made her too weak. He took the baby and fled the castle after Thea's death. Nobody ever found out what happened to them after that."
I gasp.
"So that child...I could be their descendant? Meaning my...father...could also be their descendant?"
"Technically, yes."
Eros finally speaks up.
"What if he is the missing child?"
Cole speaks.
"Meaning your the technical werewolf princess..."
"I don't think so."
Eros: "Why?"
"I'm not a werewolf."
Cole: "What if he's lying?"
"My...father is many things."
I wince at calling him father.
"But he would've told me about this."
"Lyra?"
"Hm?"
"What do you mean by 'he is many things'?"
I was hoping this would never get out. But now they're not going to let this go.
"He abused me."
Cole growls and shifts and Eros turns.
Cole's yellow eyes pierce my own. Eros' teeth look like they might pierce my neck.
"Shit."
And then I run.
