Chapter 24 - Fraud King

Unknown POV

I watch as Cole walks away from Lyra.

Life isn't working as she planned, that poor little piece of shit. Right as Cole walks by me I grab him. He doesn't react fast enough and I'm able to give him a shot of wolfsbane.

He goes limp in my arms and I carry him away. The Golden King will want him.

We get to the Golden King right as his highness wakes up.

He gives a questioning look when he sees me.

"??????. What are you doing here?"

He turns his head.

"???? ?????. What? What's going on?"

"The King would like to see you, Kid. Enjoy this. It'll be the last time you might be able to enjoy a good fight."

Le time skip to 24 hours later...

Lyra's POV

When Cole said he needed time, I didn't think he meant he was going to disappear.

Silver whimpers. She blames herself.

I turn to look at Maxon. He hasn't slept. His mate can't even comfort him.

I mean, I did just tell him that his dad helped kill the King. And that his uncle also helped. So, you can't really blame him.

I sigh and walk over to Eros. I really need him right now, but even he has been pulling away from me.

I think he feels threatened that I could be more powerful then him. He's such a royal pain in the ass.

I decide then to go up to the room.

I open the door, and immediately I know something is wrong.

I look around the room, and what I find is more horrifying than I could ever imagine.

Cole, bloody and unconscious. And a Golden Letter.

So sorry this is so short!! Haven't had the time to write lately and I felt bad so I wrote this real quick... I'm going on vacation starting next week and staying for about 2 weeks... I'm hoping to get at least one more chapter done before I go...if not, I'll try to write a little when I'm there...
