Connor wished for one perfect day.
A day with no fighting or yelling.
A day where he doesn't have to worry about being a disappointment to his family.
A day he could hold onto and use to keep going.
A day where he didn't dwell on the past or look anxiously towards the future.
A day where he was actually happy.
He was determined to get that one perfect day during the summer.
The days went by quicker and quicker.
Each day was another obstacle.
Each passing day he grew a little more discouraged
June went by.
July went by.
August went by.
By this point,
Connor gave up.
He saw no point in trying to get that perfect day.
It was simply never meant to be.
Soon the first day of school came,
Well, you know what happened.
All he wanted, all he wished for was
One perfect day.
