We're going to have some modern Jack Kelly x reader content because why not

Y/N's POV
My fingers were wrapped around the silver heart necklace hanging from my neck. My mind was entrapped in thought. Life was hard and I just need a break. An escape to get away from the world.

I looked in the mirror to see my same old self. I let out a small sigh before grabbing my backpack and most importantly my earbuds. I put them in and turned on musicals. Musicals where would I be without them? A world where you can be yourself. Sometimes I wish our world was like that. Everything is so much easier in musicals. Everything can just be solved by a large singing and dance number.

Once I finally reached school the most dreadful thing on Earth, I made my way to my favorite teacher's room. Ms. Medda's room. She was the theatre teacher and my lord and savior. She actually cared about me. I would go to her classroom at the beginning of school every day before the first bell rang.

"Good morning Y/N!" Ms. Medda said her face lighting up when she saw me enter the classroom.

"Hi Ms. Medda," I replied smiling. Ms. Medda was part of the reason why I actually like school. I don't really have very many friends.

"The school musical is coming up, are you auditioning?" Ms. Medda asked me, "The musical is Bonnie and Clyde!"

I nodded my head, "Of course." I always did the school musicals, but I always played small parts, no I wanted to play small parts.

"I mean a big part Y/N."

"I'm not talented for that Ms. Medda," I answered a small tint of sadness in my voice. It was true, other kids were better than I was.

"Y/N I've heard your voice, it's absolutely stunning. You'd be an amazing lead."

I didn't respond after that. Sure I thought about auditioning for the main leads, but there's no way I would actually get them.

"Anyways I'm not going to be here for lunch, I'm going to be on the stage getting some things set up for auditions, you're welcome to join me," Medda said breaking the small silence. Oh yeah did I mention I also eat lunch in her classroom as well? Sure beats the loud cafeteria. I can barely hear my music when I'm in there.

"Of course I'll be there," I answered.

~~Time Skip because school is boring and we want to meet Jack already~~

It was finally lunch, my favorite part of school. I grabbed my books and made my way to the theatre. I always loved going backstage. I spotted Ms. Medda talking to a tall boy with black hair. I immediately recognized him. Jack Kelly. Every girl in school has a crush on him.

I didn't want to interrupt their conversation so I just stood there awkwardly waiting. Maybe I should take my phone out to make it look like I'm busy or something? I don't know what normal do.

"Oh Y/N!" Ms. Medda exclaimed once she realized I was standing there, "This is Jack, he's going to be painting the backdrops for Bonnie and Clyde! Jack this is Y/N, she's probably my favorite student, but don't tell anyone I said that."

Jack let out a small laugh, and a smile crept onto my face, "It's nice to meet you," Jack said holding his hand out. I shook it.

"It's nice to meet you," I said quietly.

Ms. Medda stayed there and talked to both of us for a little bit, well she did most of the talking with Jack I just stayed quiet, until the principal came in and pulled Ms. Medda aside, leaving me and Jack alone.

I didn't expect Jack to talk to me, so I was going to go sit down somewhere and read. As I started to walk away, however, I heard these words from Jack, "Want to help?" he asked. I was taken back by the question, to be honest, no one popular ever wants to talk to me.

"Sure but I can't paint to save my life," I said. It was true, you should see the "art" projects I made in elementary school, you can barely tell what's there. Plus I never really painted before.

"That's okay! It's easier than you think, just pick up a brush and go with it," Jack answered. It was a little awkward at first, but as you and Jack started talking, you relaxed. Another plus is that your painting wasn't THAT bad. You made a few mistakes of course, but Jack was right there to help you fix them. It was nice having someone to talk to.

Eventually, the bell rang, you two had to put down your paintbrushes. You were actually kind of sad that the painting was over. Jack was nice, not some stuck up airhead like I thought he was.

"Are you going to be here tomorrow?" Jack asked. You nodded your head, "That's perfect! Oh uh I mean do you want to continue this tomorrow?"

"That would be fun," I replied, smiles appearing across both of your faces.

"See you tomorrow," Jack said slinging his backpack over his shoulder.

"See you tomorrow."
