Jake put another log onto the campfire, then sat back down between Jeremy and Jenna. It was their last week of summer before they returned to the battle known as high school. They weren't focused on high school, however, they were focused on the beautiful orange flames in front of them.
"Let's ass pine needles!" Rich exclaimed throwing pine needles onto the campfire, the flames instantly grew higher.
"Who gave Rich pine needles?" Michael asked as the flames calmed down a little bit.
"I went into the woods and found them," Rich stated proudly.
"Ew, you probably got bugs on you!" Brooke exclaimed.
"Want a hug?" Rich asked walking towards Brooke, his arms wide open. Brooke let out a small screech as she ran away, Rich chasing after her.
"Come near me Rich and I'll kill you," Chloe threatened.
Soon the chasing came to an end and everyone was sitting back in their own seats. Everyone was just talking about how crazy this past year was, well you know with a Squip taking over their minds and everything. Luckily, they were to the point where they could've laughed at how crazy the whole situation seemed.
An idea came to Christine's head as they were talking, "Can we sing campfire songs?" Christine asked. Michael's eyes went wide as he heard that. This was the moment that Michael waited for his whole life. Michael stood up and proceeded to clear his throat, getting everyone's attention.
"I'm going to sing the best campfire song in the world," Michael stated.
"Oh no," Jeremy sighed already aware of what his best friend was going to do.
"Take it away Michael," Christine said happily.
"I call this one, the Campfire Song Song," Michael started, "We gather 'round the campfire to sing the campfire song. C-A-M-P-F-I-R-E S-O-N-G song, and if you don't think that we can sing it faster then your wrong, but it'll help if you just sing along."
Pretty soon everyone was singing along with bright smiles on their faces. This little moment singing this song would stick with them for a while. It was stupid but it was a moment where they didn't have to worry about high school and their future. It was a moment where they could just be themselves.
