Today is the meeting with Diablo and the gang and Daniel's family gathering. Both events I have to attend. They both want me to go so I'm a little overwhelmed on deciding what to do. I can't attend both places at once.
"Melissa please!" I hissed loudly as I followed her upstairs.
It's currently around 3 pm and I've been trying all morning to convince Melissa to help me out with Daniel.
At this point, I know I have to go to the meeting, I want to go to that meeting. I have many reasons to go there. One of them being Monica needs to talk to me.
As much as this will upset Daniel, I need Melissa to go with HIM to that gathering. Daniel's disrespectful family is the very least people I want to see.
But of course, Melissa is pissed at me because I'm breaking my promise about staying away from the gang, but she forgot we mentioned the part where we said "stay away as far as we CAN" and I have stayed away, for the most part, now I have to listen to Diablo as my boss that his orders were for me to attend this meeting.
"Melissa!" I grabbed her arm taking her to halt once we were in her room.
"Ow!" She yanks her arm from my grip.
"I can't believe you don't want to help me," I tell dramatically as I possibly could, just one of my strategies.
She rolls her eyes, "it's not that I don't want to help you, Roni, but we agreed to stay away from the gang and look at you now. You're desperate to attend that meeting when we promised we wouldn't. Plus, I'll feel horrible to lie to poor Daniel. He doesn't deserve to be lied too."
I waved her off at the last part, "you think I like lying to him! I fucking don't Melissa, but it's better that way! Diablo doesn't-"
She throws her hand the air, "Diablo, Diablo, fucking Diablo! Its always about him with you isn't it? Why are you even with Daniel, Roni? Do you even love like you say you do? Cause it looks to me like you don't. You don't care about him, Legend, and you sure as hell don't care about me or even respect our promise."
I cross my arms on my chest unable to believe she said what she said just now. The only reason I went to Diablo in the first place was to find out what I could do about the person threatening us. She doesn't know that because I don't want her to worry. Because I will protect her and my loved ones and because I DO care.
"How dare you fucking say that I don't care about you? Melissa, I've done everything for you and Legend! You're here right now because of me!" I yell back. "You have no idea what I have done for all of you."
She opened her mouth to respond but then closed it shut. She knows damn well she's wrong. I don't even know why she's trippin this much, and I don't understand why she's so worried about Daniel.
Yes, what I'm doing is fucked up, but it doesn't mean I'm doing on purpose. Melissa is acting like I'm doing this for pleasure when that's definitely not the case.
"Fine," she spoke after a couple of minutes of silence. "I'll go with Daniel, and I'll text you before we come home."
I sigh in relief, "thank you, Mel. Trust me I hate doing this to him, but it has to be this way."
"Yeah, I know. Just next time find someone else to lie to him, Roni. He's helped us so much and I don't want to be lying to him too," she said dead serious.
I can only nod.
After another few seconds of awkward silence, I clear my throat to talk.
"So I'm going to tell him that I don't feel good. That I'm staying in today, and that you should be the one to go," I tell her.
