Today has been the most exhausting day for Daniel and I. We spent our entire morning and evening in the new 26 story building, soon to be King Industries, trying to get things running. Never in my life have I been so frustrated, tired, and stressed for a job until today.  So much hard work, money, and time are much needed when moving a company, too much of it. It's such a pain in the ass.

Anyway, it's 8 pm, and we're barely coming out of the office. Our job is done, for today at least. We'll be back tomorrow morning with the same exhausting routine.

"Is it okay if I skip your parent's house today?" Daniel asks me as we waited for his car to be brought by the valet. "I wanted to go with you, but I'm super wasted. I just want to go home and knock out."

As much as my tired body wants the bed too, I decided to go see my parents and Geo instead as I promise.

I look up at him, and smile, "work kicked our ass bad today, huh?"

"It sure did," he laughed.

"I'll drive you home first then I'll head to my parent's," I tell him.

"Are you sure? It's a long way there and back," he said.

I nod, "yeah I know, and I don't mind."

He grins pulling me closer for a kiss. "I love you."

"I love you too," I say back as I pinched his cheek lightly.

The valet showed up with the car, and we took off.

The drive to my parent's house was pretty enjoyable. I listened to Lil Rob, on my way over, and I couldn't help smiling the entire time as I reminisced the fun times and troubles Diablo, Raul, Melissa, and I would get into when we were younger. They were different times then.

Everything was so much easier while Dragon was in charged. Diablo and I were still in the gang, but we were not targets most of the time, and it was easier to follow orders than to set them. We should have never accepted that position.  Look how things turned out for both of us. He's the leader of the Sureno gang now, and I'm now out, but it cost us everything.

I tried hard not to think about the negatives. At the end of the day, I am grateful I still have my family, friends, and lucky to be alive. All the good memories fueled me in a way to keep going, I guess. Now I'm excited to see everyone, and I wish things can go back to how they were. I'll play my part to make that happen.

I pulled up in the driveway of my parent's house, and choked up at the sight of the house. As short as two years sound, it felt like I spent an eternity away from home.

My poor old house. This is where my parents planted their roots, and my brothers, Geo and Edgar and I grew up. I miss them. I miss it all.

Just as I was gathering my purse to get out of the car, I hear the door to the house open.

I look up and jump out of my seat when I see Geo running up to me.

Finally, what I've been wanting to do for the longest, I hugged my not-so-little brother anymore, tightly as tears run down my face.

"Never, ever, leave again, Roni," his voice cracked in my ear. "I missed you so fucking much."

"I missed you guys so much too, and don't worry, I'm not going anywhere," I sobbed.

We let go, and he places a kiss on my forehead.

I take a moment to give him an up and down glance to see how much he's grown, and oh boy, he has. He is now 22 years old. He's the same height almost 6 feet tall, supremely in shape, and still with his killer smile.
