To celebrate our engagement, Daniel took us out for a very fancy dinner with just the four of us; Legend, Melissa, him, and me. I wore a beautiful dress that suited my engagement ring [Veronica's outfit above]
Anyways, it went great and I couldn't be happier. I know, it's still a shocker for me that I'm engaged, but I'm glad I made that choice.
This is the beginning of a new chapter in my life. It feels so good.
After the fancy dinner, we drove by a festival in Phoenix. There were rides, game booths food trucks, and music, so we decided that it would be a great way to end our night by having some fun.
So this is where we're currently at.
"Shoot! I almost had that one," I groan.
Daniel, Legend and I are playing a dart game in one of the booths.
"It's my turn now," Legend grins.
I smile, "if you lose you owe me a churro."
He nods, "deal."
I look over my shoulder and see Melissa sitting on a bench all alone. All day today she's been dry and quiet. I don't know what it is, but I sure am going to find out right now.
"Baby, I'm going to check on Melissa, okay?" I tell Daniel in his ear.
He nods then pecks me on the lips before I go.
"Hey," I say once I reached her.
She looks up startled, "Oh hey."
"You doing alright?" I ask as I sat down in front of her.
"Yeah, I'm good," she replied not really looking at me in the eye.
"Really? Because today is supposed to be the happiest day of my life and I thought you'd be just as happy for me, but all I'm getting from you is the cold shoulder."
She rolls her eyes, "of course, I am. I'm happy for Daniel."
I frown, "just for Daniel?"
She shakes her head in confusion, "I meant to say you and Daniel."
I sigh, "look, Melissa, I know shit between us has been rocky lately, but if there is a problem let's talk about it. I don't like it when we're like this with each other."
"The problem is that I love-" she stops herself quickly, eyes wide.
It only confuses me more.
"You love? Who do you love?" I questioned.
She shakes her head, "no I meant to-to say that I LEFT, yeah, I left my mother's house pissed off this morning. We got into a huge argument. It was pretty bad. I said shit, she said shit. I didn't want to tell you for the reason that I didn't want to ruin your day."
"Aw, Mel," I take her hand and squeeze it gently. "You know you can count on me. If there's anything you need no matter what it is, whether you need to talk, you let me know, bitch. No matter when or where the second you need me, I'll drop everything for you because you're my bitch, and I got your back."
"Thank you. You're a real bitch," she says. "I hope things between us never change."
I let out a giggle, "bitch, for infinity and beyond."
She laughs.
Finally, my girl is smiling.
"Come on," I said standing up. "Let's go play some games."
I start walking when I feel a tug on my arm. I look back and Melissa embraces me into a tight hug.
"I'm so fucking happy for you, Roni. I truly wish you all the happiness in the world," she tells me in tears. "You fucking deserve it."
