It's been a couple of hours that Daniel was brought to the hospital. My fear that he would get shot became true. The ambulance picked him up, and then took him straight into surgery. Legend was also a target, but thanks to Daniel, he got him to the ground, falling on top of him as a bulletproof vest. Daniel took all the bullets. Legend should be fine, the doctors are taking a test to make sure the head injuries aren't high-risk.
The cops obviously got involved to ask questions and find whoever is responsible. They wanted to take us to the police station, but we wouldn't move. Melissa and I demanded we stay in the hospital then answer questions when we know Daniel and Legend are okay. Because there's a shooter out there and caught the media's attention, they set up a room in the hospital to ask routine questions regarding the incident. Of course, I had to somewhat lie. They can't know about the text messages. Diablo promised he would take care of it.
It is now past 3am and there are still no updates on Daniel. The times I've gone to ask all I get as a response is that he's still in surgery. I'm going fucking crazy without knowing anything. Thankfully, Diablo is the only one keeping me company right now. Melissa was able to come to ride in the ambulance with Legend, but I wasn't able too because Daniel was in a bad condition, so Diablo drove me to the hospital. I'm really thankful he's here.
Now I'm finding myself pacing back and forth anxious to find out what the hell is going on with Danny. The severe feels of panic and anxiety can't seem to let me sit down to try and relax. All these negative thoughts pop into my head and I have to scowl at myself to not let it get to me. I'm probably looking like a crazy person talking to myself, but I don't care. The only thing that can calm right now is knowing that Daniel is going to be okay.
"Roni," Diablo calls my name softly.
"What?" I snapped.
He sighs, "you need to try and relax. Everything's going to be alright."
"And if it's not- shit don't answer that," I pinch myself to try and trick my brain.
He gets up and gets in front of me. "You have to calm down, I know how bad your panic attacks can get."
I begin to cry once again. "I can't calm down. All I want is to see Daniel right now."
"Shh, baby girl, I know," he takes me into a hug. "He'll be alright I promise."
I cry some more in his arms.
"You need a Xanax for your anxiety?" he asks.
I frown, "I haven't gotten a prescription-" I stopped myself when I realized the type of Xanax he was talking about.
"You have some on you right now?" I ask.
He nods, "you're not the only one with anxiety problems. Let me go get you some water."
While he went, I take a seat in one of the chairs. He comes back with a pill and a water cup. I hesitated to take the pill. This shit is super strong but is what I need to get through this.
First and last time.
Within twenty minutes of taking it, I felt more relaxed and calm, but it was also making me a little more sleepy. I was sorta dozing off.
I think Diablo noticed because he wraps an arm around me and says, "it's okay, go ahead and rest a little. I'll wake you up if anything."
"Promise?" I mumbled.
He nods then kisses the top of my head.
"Okay," I whispered.
I was about to close my eyes when I see Melissa walking from the other side of the hall. I quickly sit up straight. This is my first time seeing her here in the hospital.
