The ringing of a phone call wakes me up from deep sleep. I open my eyes slowly then quickly reach for my phone on the nightstand. Three missed calls from Melissa and two text messages that read:

MELISSA: Hey, Roni. Where are you? I just want to know if you're okay. Please call me as soon as you can. I'm worried.

MELISSA: Daniel just opened his eyes. He wants to see you. He keeps asking for you. Answer me, please!

I toss my phone back to the nightstand. Tears sting in my eyes as I think back to last night. The horror of the images of Daniel laying on the ground covered in blood unresponsive, waiting anxiously in the waiting room while he fought for his life, to his family telling me I'm a piece of shit and my best friend said nothing to back me up, then to me actually deciding to end everything with him.

It's crazy how things can change in an instant. Yesterday I was engaged and now I'm on my own and I have to decide how I'm going to move forward with my life.

I roll over to sit on the side of the bed. God, I can't believe I slept here at the Trap. This room is probably responsible for a lot of fucking pregnancies. The only way I coped to sleep in this bed was because Diablo took me to a Walmart to by new sheets, pillows, and covers. Yet, I forgot to buy myself comfortable clothes so I had to sleep in my dress which I can't wait to take off.

I jump out of bed then start walking downstairs. Right away, I can hear a mix of familiar voices. I follow the voices and they led me to the dining room. Sure enough, everyone is sitting at a large table. By everyone I mean Odin, Angle, Geo, Clumsy, Gustavo, Adrian, Corey, Monica, and Diablo. I felt good seeing them all together again.

Adrian is the first to notice me and says, "rise and shine, beautiful."

Now everyone turns their heads to me.

"Hey, guys," I say to everyone in a low voice.

I wish I could at least sound more amused, but my heart is hurting so much right now. Everything I say will come out bitterly I bet.

Geo comes forwards, "Hey, you alright?"

I nodded, "I'm fine."

"Okay, well, I just want you to know that I'm here for you, sis," he says sincerely.

"We all are," Odin adds. "That's why we're here."

"Thank you," I replied blankly.

They all nod.

I take a deep breath before speaking again, "so I'm guessing you know about Daniel and the death threats I've been receiving through texts."

Again they all nod.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Geo questions.

I look at him, "I'm sorry, I didn't want to worry you, but I know now that I should have. If shit like this happens again, I'll make sure to inform you."

"Damn right," he mumbled.

"Any suspects?" I ask.

Diablo sighs from his chair. "We're getting there we're a step closer. Odin, Gustavo, and I went back to the crime scene and found this."

He slides a pistol in the middle of the table.

"A gun?" I question confused.

He nods, "yeah, a gun, or the weapon that shot Daniel, and it has the Suerno marking on it. We found it on the other side of the parking lot. None of my guys were there so this can only mean one thing-"

"It was one of us," I whispered, sounding questionable.

Would a homie do this?

I look at Diablo for an answer and he nods.
