It's reaching the end of February and the snow has finally melted. Even though it is still very cold outside, I'm glad not to have snow all over my hair and making it damp, even though Yunho would always try to get it off my hair when we go out for walks or strolls.
The only bad thing about the snow melting is that spring break is coming, which means that exam season is coming. We've got stacks and stacks of homework awaiting us, and I'm starting to feel stressed out.
"Why are the teachers so mean to us?" I groaned, carrying six of my heavy textbooks around my arms.
Yunho, stronger than I am (duh), took three of my books from my arms and placed it on his stack. He looked like he was carrying a pile of feathers.
"They're teachers," Yunho answers. "They're naturally cruel."
I grumbled. "I hate school."
Days passed, more homework piled, and I'm still no closer in cracking the case of who my secret admirer might be. I didn't talk much to Yeosang, San, and Wooyoung these days, since I wasn't that close with Yeosang and San and I am definitely in no mood to see Wooyoung, so I had no clue in who it might be. Some days the cupcakes didn't appear in my locker—which happened last year during exam season, so I'm not that surprised. Still, I kinda feel down not reading the notes of encouragement that come with the cupcakes.
Mingi and I are getting closer, though. He often talks about Sol when I'm around. Sometimes it feels annoying when he does so, but I'm glad that he found someone. After all, Hongjoong and I found a new subject to tease him about.
Kidding.
But seriously, I am happy for him.
"I don't understand what crap this is talking about," Yunho grumbled to me as he crumpled his paper of notes and threw it over Hongjoong's head and into the trash can behind him. "Math is stupid."
Yunho, Mingi, Hongjoong, and I are attempting to use the afterschool hours for study and homework time, but so far, we've only got three questions down for Math and still about forty-seven to go. Hongjoong is progressing faster than we are, but not that fast either. We complain more than getting work done.
I tapped my chin. "What's the formula for the volume of a cone again?"
"Base area multiplied by height divided by three, Kyung," Hongjoong sighs for the hundredth time, pushing his glasses back up his nose.
"Right," I nodded, scribbling random numbers down.
Yunho released an exasperated groan and leaned back on the chair. "I hate Math..."
"That's the sixteenth time you said that in the past hour," Mingi grumbled.
"Actually, sixth."
"Close enough."
Hongjoong sighed. "This isn't working, is it?"
"Nope," I slammed my textbook shut. "We need a break."
"Like what?" Yunho asked.
"I don't know," I shrugged. "Why don't we go play video games in Mingi's house or something?"
"Why my house?" Mingi grumbled.
"You've got the better video games," Hongjoong argued. "Mine sucks."
"Super Bomberman R doesn't suck," Mingi argued.
"Yeah, unless you're stuck playing it with your younger siblings for almost every single day," Hongjoong rolled his eyes. "I'm bored of that game. We should go play Minecraft or something."
