Wooyoung

To say I am nervous is an understatement.

I am absolutely terrified.

I was mostly worried about Mikyung's reaction, though, considering my actions towards her on our past few interactions. I hope she isn't really mad at me for turning down her requests—I honestly didn't mean to hurt her feelings. I am 78% sure I made her cry by turning her down.

I tapped my fingers on the metal gate of the park impatiently, biting my bottom lip. Despite my nervousness, I still want Mikyung to be here. After a while of waiting I decided to just walk around the quiet park and enjoy the evening atmosphere. There weren't many people around at the park today, so the park is giving off a peaceful atmosphere today. I walked past flower gardens and brick roads and cold lampposts, and even past the tree Mikyung crashed into during the first and only time we went riding on bicycles together. I sighed, secretly wanting to do that with her again. I caressed the tree, not sensing the figure standing right beside it until I crashed into her.

"Oof," I said at the collision. "Sorry, I—Kyungie?"

Mikyung looked up at me with wide eyes. "O-oh, hi, Wooyoung."

I only stared at her, resulting in awkward silence. I didn't utter a single word, and neither did she. After a while, I coughed and took her smaller hand in my somewhat slightly larger one.

"Would you like to walk with me around the park?" I asked quietly.

Mikyung only nodded, and we walked together in silence through the park, just enjoying the scenery around us. The only not-so-comfortable thing about this is the awkward silence that hung between us. Suddenly, Mikyung sighed deeply and turned to me with a frown on her face.

"Okay, what's up?"

"What?" I frowned, puzzled with what she means.

"What's wrong?" she yanked her hand gently from mine and folded her arms, facing me.

"What do you mean, what's wrong?" I asked.

"Wooyoung," Mikyung massaged the bridge of her nose. "Stop pretending. You never come to our homework meetings. You never even try to set one up. Every time I ask you to one you put it down and refuse and tell me that you already had plans. And all of a sudden out of the blue you ask me out to this? Did you knock your head on your wall or something?"

I couldn't help but chuckle at her attitude. She tried to keep a straight face, but I could tell by her quivering lips that she is trying not to explode with laughter. She glared at me with a frown plastered across her face.

"I'm. Serious." She stated.

"Okay, okay, I'm sorry," I cleared my throat and calmed myself, but when I looked at her beautiful face, it came back.

The butterflies in my stomach.

Mikyung noticed me pausing and frowned. She waved a hand in front of my face.

"Hello? Wooyoung?" she waved. "What's wrong? Is there something on my face?" She patted her cheeks to make sure there is nothing on it.

"No, no, your face is beautiful already," I waved her off. I didn't see the blush that crept on her face. "I just got distracted, that's all."
