Mission: Green

Chapter one

14 years later...

It was a cold winter night. The blonde haired boy sat at the top of a building, just exploring the beauty of the city. It's been a while since he had been allowed out. The last mission didn't go so well, so his boss had told him to lay low for some months so that the ninja wouldn't be able to track him. Of course, he hasn't encountered them just yet, but they were always the ones who had gotten close enough to find him. But today wasn't going to be anything else but relaxing. He had chosen to come to ninjago to watch the parade. Every year at this time of year, there would be a parade with people celebrating. He never joined them of course, but they all seemed so happy when they were together.
" if only I could be normal like them.." Lloyd mumbled quietly there he sat.
They all were free, unlike him. They were all happy, unlike him.
All in his life were work, training and missions. Nothing more than that.
" oh shut it.. you don't have to feel pity for yourself " Lloyd mumbled to himself, trying not to let the negativity take over. The last thing he needed now was another bad day.
He stood up. His suit was all black, and his face was covered up with the same dull color. All matching his emerald green eyes. On his back he carried a weapon made out of dark metal, a sword made especially for him. For the well known renegade working under the Shadow order. Every villain knew him by the name he was given. Renegade. A dark warrior trained to help the shadows to concur ninjago city.
He had always been one of them, even though he was treated differently. He was treated like a dangerous sword. He had gotten his own room, not being allowed to share a room with anyone else, his room was always being locked and guarded whenever he was to sleep, when there wasn't a mission, he would spend hours in training. If failing a mission, he would be punished. Hard. First of all, there was no mercy. This is something he had learned early. When he was younger, he was often brought into a room where lots of white dresses people would experiment on him and do different types of tests on him, but sometimes it was just to torture the hell out of him. If he didn't obey, then that's what he was getting. Lloyd was living in fear everyday. He was used to it, but that didn't change the fact that he was scared of his master.

Not to far away laid a temple where the well known spinjitsu masters lived. The two brothers Wu and Garmadon were highly respected by the citizens of ninjago. Alongside them, the protectors of the city were the elemental masters of fire, water, lighting, ice and earth. As most people would expect them to be highly professional and serious, the ninja sure did not live up to their expectations. Out on missions, they're all serious, but at home, they were nothing more but a bunch of loud teenagers.
" Jey! That cookie was mine! I even wrote my name in it!" Kai yelled at his friends from the kitchen.
" hey! I haven't stolen your cookie this time! Why does everyone assume it's me stealing it every time!?"
" um because you are always stealing the cookies? There's no one else here who's obsessed with cookies like you" Cole grins at him while he was holding the game console tightly, now being close to defeat the lightning master as he was being distracted.
" stop assuming that my boyfriend always steals it" Nya now joined them in the living room, heading towards the fridge where her brother Kai stood.
She then opened it to grab her snack when she noticed it being gone " Jey! You stole my snack!" She yelled furiously.
Jey had lost focus on them and now was struggling to defeat his partner in the game.
" morning fellow brothers" the nindroid joined the rest of them.
" good to see everyone up " the voice of their master spoke.
" morning master Wu" they all greeted him as he also joined them.
" well I'm sorry to ruin your morning boys, but I have a mission for you. Last night, the citizens of ninjago celebrated the new year with a parade, and I have been informed by someone who spotted the renegade on the roof of the buildings. I think something is going on within the shadows. We need to watch out for any kind of danger that he may cause. "
" yeah yeah... I suppose we can do a patrol of the city, but master, we have never been able to catch him, nor have we fought him. How can we do anything when he clearly is the master of disappearance." Kai, who was the leader spoke.
" a man must stop running at some point. Be patient my friend " his master answer. He turned to the fireplace where he was preparing his tea. Garmadon now joined them " I suppose Wu has already informed you about your patrol. I need you guys to be careful this time. I think it's time to bring this renegade down and question him." He mumbled as he took a seat at the table.
" what crime has he committed?" Nya asked her master as she took the seat opposite him.
" nothing to serious, but there's a pattern to all his doing, I believe there's a greater plan behind it all. " he answered her, placing some pitchers onto the table in front of her. On the pictures we're a dark dressed figure, stealing different types of museum treasure.
" by the look of it.. it seems like he's just stealing old objects so he can start up his own boring museum." Jey laughed from the other side of the room.
" oh shut it Jey, that's just silly " Nya responded to her boyfriends comment.
" I wonder who he is tho..." Zane joined them.
" well so do I " Master Wu replied, watching over his tea. They all watched him quietly.

" but master... not long ago, you mentioned something about an old legend. " Kai now broke the silence.
" old legend? What legend Kai?" Wu looked up at the red ninja.
" the legend of the green ninja, master" he answered impatiently.
" you say the renegade is the green ninja?" The old man was confused now. So we're the others.
" what? No! I'm talking about us! Forget the renegade by now, you told us once that one of us was chosen to become the green ninja, the master of all elements, the master of life. "
Wu studied his students in silence before he spoke again " I'm sorry Kai, but it has not been revealed to me just yet who of you are the chosen one, as far as I know, none of you may be..." Wu really wished he knew who, because they sure need the help, the shadow order had grown stronger lately and he feared that there soon would be a new era of evil coming.
" we MUST be ready when the time has come... ninjago is in great danger.
