Renegade grabbed the bracelet and tried to tear it off, but it was hard as stone. Didn't move at all.
Renegade let himself fall onto his bed angrily. After Garmadon had given him this curse of a bracelet, he had been assigned a room within the temple. They were forcing him to stay here.
Renegade looked up at the sealing. He honestly had to admit that this place was nice, his room were nice, and the ninjas didn't seem like blood thirsty warriors like he had imagined them. But what he was worried about was his master. He had been given the night to complete his mission, to kill a ninja, bug had obviously failed by now. What would happen..? Would they come after him and get him back? Would he be punished for failing the mission? Would they.... send him away like he did with the others? Like... the twins? And his best friend?
He closed his eyes, trying to remember their faces. It had been years since last he had seen them. 47 was the only face he could remember, at least a little bit. She had always been a good friend, and perhaps more? Family?
Renegade shook his head at the last part. No, that couldn't be. He had never experienced what a family is like, and would never know. That's one of the unnecessary things in life. Love, family and feelings should never a part of an assassins life, it will only get in your way and become a great weakness upon you. This was at least what the league had trained everyone to think.
Renegade laid onto the bed in his new room. He had to admit that it was better than the one he used at the base.
He heard a soft knock on the door. Somewhat that was unfamiliar too. At the base, the guards always slammed on the door to make as much noise as possible to annoy him.
Renegade quietly sat up, watching the sensei called Wu, enter his room. With a soft smile he began to speak.
" good evening young man, do you go by a name? I doubt you're actually named renegade." Renegade looked up at the old man. He has never thought of this, he actually didn't have a name, but a number.
" I'm just known as 77..." renegade mumbled, not knowing why he was not proud of it.
" perhaps you want a new name? " Renegade thought for a moment.
" I really don't know what to go by, but some at the base... called me Green, because of my eyes. " Renegade was a little bit surprised that he actually told the old man this.
" then I will call you Green, consider that your actual name from now then, so Green, would you like to join us for dinner?" Wu held the door open for him.
Green, as his name was now, considered for a second to actually knock down the old man and escape, but knew he wouldn't be able to get away. No, he needed a better plan.
" you want to join..?" The old man repeated.
" why are you letting me choose?" The words came unexpected and Wu though for a while before giving him the answer. " because here, you're not a prisoner, but a guest."
What was that supposed to mean? Green was confused at this, but later he would come to understand these exact words.
" alright..." Green mumbled and joined the old man.
" we thought it would be better for you to stay with us until you are capable of living your own life in a good way. Away from crime. Until you have proven us that you can, you are to stay here with us." Wu informed him. Green didn't like the thought of it at all. He disliked the ninja, especially the Kai guy.
He had to get away, this place was not his home.
They entered the dining room and green took a seat beside Garmadon, since it was the only free spot.
" why is he here? Are we eating with our enemies now?" Jey looked at the assassin, disliking him a lot.
" the enemy has a name now" Wu said looking over at Green.
" perhaps you would like to introduce it yourself?" He nods at him.
Green rolled with his eyes, " were I'm from, they call me green. Cause my eyes are green " he mumbled a bit annoyed, not liking to talk to the others, especially not when he was kinda forced to do it. He regretted eating dinner with them already. It had just been a day ago when he had tried to kill one of them. He actually agreed with the blue ninja now. Why should he eat with his enemies?
But he sat at his seat, not moving nor saying anything more. But he actually noticed Garmadon actually looking at him.
" you're right, your eyes are green indeed... the name fits you well. " he sounded different this time. His tone wasn't being strict or serious, but.... kind??
Green looked away. He didn't care, all he needed to do was to get away from these crazy people. And he was going to try. Tonight.
After eating, the ninjas quickly got up and ran as fast as they could to the living room, each grabbing a game console.
" dang it! How come I have to not play!? Cole was the one who destroyed the fourth console! Not me!" Jey complained as he was the last one to reach the tv.
" to bad! To slow, you blow" Cole grins happily.
" Kai!? Zane!? Help me here, you both know this is unfair!"
" if I'm not mistaken, someone ate my snack once. And he also ate everyone else's snack too, so I don't know if you have ever heard of karma?" Zane smiled up at his friend.
" Kai!?" Jey turned to his hot headed friend.
" to slow you blow! Now get out of my way! I'm about to beat your record!"
The two older men only chuckles at the silly situation.
" Jey, why don't you help me take off the table instead?" Nya suggested, hoping he would come and help her.
" yeah right! That's way more fun than playing games! Losers! " he jealousy replied, walking over to his girlfriend.
Green watched them.
He couldn't understand anything. These people were living like... he didn't have words to describe this weird way of living. They were laughing, disobeying their masters, being reckless... he had never seen people like this, and they were supposed to be feared by nations?
" boys, training grounds in an hour!" Garmadon yelled at them. Cole lifted his right arm " yeah yeah..."
careless. Green disliked this place more and more, or at least that's what he told himself that he was doing. Deep inside, this place kinda made him feel a bit more... freeThat night he couldn't sleep. He laid in his bed, thinking out a plan. He was scared. Very scared. He remembered all the missions he had failed, and the punishments that followed. He especially remembered the time he had failed to return a fang blade. They had brought him to a small room where he had been tied to a table and weird dressed people had done some testings on him. That's what they said, because the tests was about how long or how much people could tolerate to be electrocuted while being forced down into water. Tears forced its way out but Lloyd just quickly wiped them away.
He held his hand up. Studying the bracelet. He has tried to break it with a knife and a rock, but it didn't even get a mark from it. He had to at least try.
He then quietly stood up from his bed and went for the door. Very quietly, he opened the door and sneaked out into the hallway. At the league, they had trained him for situations like these, and was utterly great full for it now. He very quietly walked passed the doors. Not a sound escaped him. He reached the main door to to training grounds and very quietly opened the door. He walked out. The grounds were empty and dark, only lighten up by some small candles here and there. He then was about to take a step out onto the ground when he heard a voice suddenly speaking.
" you really think we would just let you escape this easily? " Green turned his head around to face Kai, the read ninja, standing only some meters away from him. " and you really think you can stop me? " Green replied.
" oh I know I can, " Kai answered, standing reading in a fighting position. Green narrowed his eyes at him.
" then let's find out"
Kai did the first move, he moved his hand and shoots fire towards the assassin, only to find him escaping it. Kai then grabbed one of the swords at the grounds, holding his eyes at the boy.
Green didn't have a sword, but he was flexible and easily escaped each deadly blow from the sword and the hands of the elemental master.
The assassin managed to grab a spear, blocking the attacks with the sword as the fire master wasn't slowing down. Green now had a weapon and started to return the deadly attacks to Kai, being close to knock him out. And I'm the end he does. He managed to knock the sword out of his hand and spear him through his shoulder, pinning him to the wall. Kai screamed as the pain was great. Blood rolled down his suit and he was staring to feel dizzy. But not long after the victory, green felt a shocking wave of pain. He felt the air being knocked out of his lungs and the burning sensation crawl out through his body. The bracelet. It had been activated. Pain ran through him in waves, getting stronger by each one. He fell to he's knees, trying to catch his breath, but his lungs refused. It was almost like being under water, unable to draw a breath.
" Kai!" Garmadon came running out, followed by Wu and Nya.
" Kai!!!" Nya cried out, watching all the blood he had lost.
Right away she tried to tend to his wounds, along side Wu. The others had joined them. The boys had heard the scream and ran out as fast as they could.
" Kai! H...how dare you! Y...you monster!" Cole had problems getting the words out, but he did.
Garmadon had grabbed the assassin and now was handcuffing him. The bracelet had stopped the pain attack, but the boy was too weak to fight back. And he couldn't explain why, but the words had hit him.
Monster...
Was he truly a monster? He had never taken a life before, at least not that he knew of.
Monster...
Garmadon forced him to his feet, not caring if he hurt the boy. He was angry, just like the others. But he didn't blame the boy, he was trained to do this. Whoever the people who train him was, they were more dangerous that he thought, and he had to figure it out. If the boy wasn't going to answer him, then he had no choice but to enter his mind, and look through his memories. This boy was scared. He was afraid. And he knew that whoever his master was, would probably not be happy about him failing. But then again, he may have succeeded...The sword was removed from Kai's shoulder and he was laid carefully down onto the ground. Nya placed his head onto her lap, using her water power to clean his wounds. Wu was right next to them, holding up a tea cup.
" Kai... drink this... it will help healing the wound"
But Kai didn't replay. He had lost to much blood and was slowly fainting away, everything slowly turning black.
