Lloyd held Jey's cold hand gently into his warm ones. After hours of waiting, sensei Wu had finally let them in to see their brother. He was laying very quietly onto a white hospital bed, being to quiet for their liking. Wu sat next to him by a chair, not saying anything.
" c...can't you heal him Green? Like you healed me?" Kai quietly asks, watching his very lifeless friend.
" I wish.... I tried to talk to sensei about it... but it turns out that he has some kind of poison inside his cells that refuses to let my power heal him. Only the water healing is slowly showing any result on removing the poison from the cells... but that doesn't heal him... I ... I don't know if there's anything we can do.... his lighting... is also taken out of him... he's powerless..." Lloyd very quietly spoke the last part.
Kai tries his best to hold back his tears, now slowly turning away to not face them, wanting to stay strong for Jey, hoping with his whole heart that he would survive.
" don't leave me brother..." Cole whispers as he's holding onto Jey's other hand. Even though they all were a team, brothers and best of friends, Cole and Jey had perhaps been a tiny bit closer as best friends.
There was no sign of Nya being in the room. She had been the only one Wu had let in before any of us. According to him, she was out to take a break, or more correctly, some rest. She had been up almost the whole night, using her water ability to try and remove the poison from Jey's body. It had been working, but it was a slow process. Now she was forced to relax so that she would be able to continue later.
Lloyd quietly walked over to Wu who quietly stood a bit away from the boys, giving them space to meet their dying brother.
" isn't.... there anything I can do..." Lloyd whispers to him, now wanting to watch him die.
" I'm afraid not.... the poison is resistant to healing abilities... my tea didn't work either..." he replied.
" is his powers.... are they really gone..? I couldn't sense his lightning when I brought him out of there..."
" I'm afraid so....that's also a reason why his body isn't recovering..." Lloyd felt his heart sink at this information. He had noticed it, but Lloyd had hoped it was only his imagination.
He looked at Jey. All pale and lifeless. Hatred grew inside him like a venom, rushing through his blood system.
How dare anyone do this to his family, how dare anyone take Jey from them!? They deserve death, they deserve to be punished!
These kinds of words went through Lloyds mind as a warm hand is gently laid onto his shoulder.
Garmadon.
When did he get onto the ship?
Lloyd looked up at his master.
" don't let hatred manifest itself into your heart... it won't make you any different from them who did this.." his words were gentle, but they cut deep like sharp knives.
How did he know about this? Lloyd thought to himself, not understanding the limits of Sensei Garmadon.
He hadn't noticed, but the ship hand landed and they were out in the mountains of the west of ninjago, far from the city. Garmadon had been expecting them there. How long had he and Jey been held captive in the catacombs of the snakes?
" master... I..." Lloyd began but was interrupted by Garmadon.
" don't apologize... I understand this situation you're going through, but never let the venom of the enemy get to your heart... hatred is an unhuman thing..." a kind smile crossed his face, and slowly he started walking towards the exit of the ship. The others were already helping Wu with getting Jey off the ship carefully, not to hurt him.
Lloyd followed his master, watching him quietly, wondering what was going through his mind at the sight of Jey.
He himself had reported the mission to Garmadon as soon as he was allowed and had told him everything that had happened, but the sight of his student sure was badgering him.
It wasn't exactly a pretty sight.

That night, no one slept well. Neither the other one. Reports from the city informed them about the serpentines retreating from the city and into the dessert. The fire Lloyd had set off had spread through the hallways of the catacombs and forced the snakes out. This had also forced them to leave the city. There were no place for them to hide so the only option was to leave. The police was waiting for them everywhere.
Two days had passed and Jey's condition had not gotten anything better. In fact... it had only gotten worse. His heart had started to beat slower, and the water cell healing process had stopped working. Only a miracle could save him, and it didn't seem like there would be any coming soon.
He was dying...

Wu had called his parents and informed them about his condition, and the fact that there wasn't anything that could help him. Ninjago city had also gotten their hands onto the news, and the newspapers were writing all about it.
" Jey walker, blue ninja, slowly fading away "
Or...
" time to say goodbye to a hero"
Or..
" blue ninja, slowly losing hold on life"

But not long after the newspapers had published their versions of the tragic story, Wu received a call from an unknown person, who was claiming to be Jey's real father, wanted to come over.
Of course we all thought that to be a lie, but after talking to Ed and Edna walker, Jey's percent parents, who had admitted that they weren't his biological parents, we let the stranger come to see his son. Ed and Edna themselves had arrived earlier that day, curious about this new guy, and very worried and sad about their son.
" my boy..." Edna cried softly as she held her son's cold hand in her own, trying to warm them.
Jey's biological father stood by his bed, opposite Edna, quietly looking down at him.
For being an actor, he was extremely shy, but this was his son, and he just had to meet him, while he still was alive... he had been to scared to contact him before, not wanting to make him feel unloved. He had loved him with all his heart, but when his wife had died... he couldn't handle to take care of a child alone.. so he gave him up to a wonderful couple who he knew would make good parents to his son.
" I never got the chance to meet you... or to know you..." he whispers, tears quietly rolling down his cheeks, but he wasn't ashamed. He needed to get it out. He had to tell him, even if he couldn't hear him.
" we both loved you so much... I'm so sorry for not being able to take care of you after your mother passing away... I wanted to contact you... but I wasn't sure how... or if you would be okay with the news of being adopted.... given up by your biological parents..." he kept on going.
" but you have gotten yourself a nice family... a big family.... and I couldn't be more proud of you... please son... don't leave me...., at least don't leave them.." he whispered the last part, very carefully, not wanting to hurt him, strikes his chestnut brow hair.,
He had done the exact same thing when he was a baby.
Memories of his wife holding their son crossed his mind and more tears came.

The ninjas had left the parents alone, letting them take farewell with their son, not wanting to take their goodbye away from them.
But Lloyd were still being badgered with the feeling of needing to do something. He has had this feeling that there was one thing they hadn't been trying. But he didn't know what!
Yesterday he had convinced Wu to let him at least try to use his healing powers to heal Jey, to at least try, but it had failed, just like any other attempt... but there had to be something....
His element... Jey did not have his element anymore.
The serpentines had done something to him so that his element was removed from him. They had drained him for blood... and power. That's why the general had been able to transform. He didn't need the blood! He needed Jey's Lightning ability to transform into an alpha serpentine with enormous strength!
Lloyd slowly looks down at his hands.
He was the green ninja...
He could control all four primary elements...
Ice
Earth
Fire and ....
" Lightning... I can control lighting! "
Lloyd holds out his hand and very correctly! Lighting was dancing in his hand.
The serpentines had drained him of his power.. taken it.. what if... he returned it? Wu admitted that the loss of Jey's abilities were the main reason for why his body wouldn't recover.
For his body to recover, he needed his powers back... and Lloyd knew exactly what he had to do. He had to give Jey his lighting.
