Bracelets
I have a lot of bracelets,
I wear them all the time,
they're many different colors,
like blue and red and lime.
I have a lot of bracelets,
I never take them off,
they hold a sacred meaning,
to which others probably scoff.
My bracelets hold my secrets,
my bracelets hold my lies,
my bracelets know my pain,
my bracelets know the sadness in my eyes.
And when I take them off,
people sometimes like to stare,
so I look them in the eyes and say,
"oh, suddenly you care."
And though my bracelets are meant as accessories,
I wear them as a wall,
protecting all my secrets,
and the world's judgment of my fall.
I have lot of bracelets,
I wear them every day,
because when I take them off,
people stop and turn away.
