Chapter 16

>TIME CHANGE (moved into apartment and both have jobs, getting ready to adopt)<

•Ashton's POV•
Me and Luke have been wanting to adopt kids, but we don't know what gender..  I want a little boy. Possible a little girl too. 

I walked into the kitchen to see Luke.
"Hey babe" I said smiling. Today was our day off, we've been working our butts off.
I leaned on the counter. "I've been thinking.." I said slowly. 
He put his phone down to listen.
"What's wrong?" He said with a little fear in his eyes.
"About the adoption thing, I think I want a little boy, mostly." I said
"I've been thinking the same thing!" He said smiling. "I called the adoption center, there's a little boy named Xavier, he's nine months old. They said we could come in tomorrow morning to meet him and if we where final on our answer we could take him home tomorrow." Luke said smiling.
"Well.. do you want to?" I asked
He nodded his head, I walked over hugging him. He kissed my lips, I kissed him back.

(THE NEXT MORNING)
•Luke's POV•
I shot up out of bed at 6:00 on the dot, so did Ashton. We got ready as fast as possible, we didn't want to waste any time of hopefully meeting our new son.
<AT THE ADOPTION CENTER THINGY>
"So soon to be Mr and Mr Hemmings I see you both have a perfectly clean records, are you 110% on board with this?" The main caregiver asked.

"Yes, defiantly!" Ashton said smiling.

"One last question, in the possibility of Xavier's mother having a biological sibling in the future (Same father or not) would you two be willing to take care of the other child as long as you possibly can?" She asked pulling her glasses off and looking at us both.

"Well uhm, I think it would only be fair to Xavier if he had a relationship with his sibling(s) then yes, if his mother has anymore children we will take them." I said looking at Ashton for a brief second.

"Well then, let me step out a minute or two" she said walking out, her heels clicking in the floor with every step.

Minutes later I heard a baby and cooing, was it our baby? She walked in with a baby smiling, handing him to Ashton. She sat down and pulled out papers.

"Mr and Mr Hemmings please sign here and here and then he's all yours, congratulations." She said with a stern smile.

This was it, this was the moment I was waiting for, he was finally our baby. I can't wait to start a future with my family. My complete family.

•Ashton's POV•
When we got home I brought Xavier into his room, it was perfectly decorated and had all the furniture needed in there thanks to Calum and Mikey.

That night was atrocious, it was a mess. Besides my panic attacks every two hours Xavier felt the need to cry all night. Needless to say I got negative three hours of sleep. I decided to quit my job and stay home with Xavier full time.

<THE NEXT MORNING>
I woke up to baby Xavier next to me besides Luke, Xavier was asleep and I didn't have a death wish so I let him sleep. When he woke up I carried him out to the kitchen, setting him in his high chair. I seen a note from Luke that said "Good Luck with Xavier today, See you after work. Love you and Xavier lots! ~Luke" it made me smile and I seemed to forget Xavier's crying for .2 seconds. I snapped out of it and made toast for me and him. He fell asleep in his high chair so I put one of his stuffed animals under his neck. I had no clue parenting was going to be like this. It's VERY hard. I started cleaning up the counters and then the entire apartment. I got everything that needed to be done, done. Xavier woke up and I was laying with him on the couch, making him giggle and laugh. Soon, we both fell asleep and didn't wake up until luke barged through the door.

You guys deserve a long chapter but it's like 1 am and I'm tired sorry 🥴
