Sophie's POV

We're currently having a pool "party" at Josh's house. Only a few people are here so I wouldn't really call it a party but hey, close enough.

We're all chilling by the pool either sitting on the edge of the pool dipping our feet in or laying on Josh's pool chairs. I, however, am grilling hamburgers and hotdogs for everybody since I'm such a nice person, kidding. Drew brought Coke and waters while Lys brought chips and corn, her boyfriend brought potato salad and baked beans, and Josh made cupcakes and prepared a salad. Everybody else who is here either brought some type of alcohol or brought cookies.

I've decided on not drinking. I need to drive home. Yes, I know I live down the block from Josh but I still don't want to get into more trouble with my mother. She's stressed enough. I don't need to be selfish and stress her more.

"Soph, we're starving." Wines Aly.

"Calm down, Lys. They're almost done." I roll my eyes, concentrating too hard on not burning the meat.

"It smells good." Compliments Josh.

"God, I hope so." I chuckle.

"I'll prepare the drinks. What do you all want?" Asks Drew.

"Nah, man, I'll get it." Josh stands up before Drew.

"No, I insist. Sit back and enjoy the pool, Josh. Frick you." Drew stands up, carefully pushing Josh out of the way.

"Frick you? When did you become such a Christian child?" Lys raises an eyebrow at the boy.

"Shut it." Drew lastly says before vanishing into the house.

"Meats ready." I smirk at the hungry teenagers in front of me.

"Do we got buns?" Alyssa's boyfriend, Caden, asks.

"Right here, baby." Aly shoves her ass in front of Caden's face.

"Buns that I can eat." He sighs.

"Mine!" She shoves her ass more into his face.

"I give up." Caden gets up and walks away.

"But.." Aly pretends to cry.

"I'll get the buns." I nod and walk away into the house.

Inside the house, Drew is taking twenty years with the drinks as usual. That kid is never on time for anything. He's slower than molasses.

"What's taking so long with the drinks?" I grab the buns sitting on the counter and the condiments from the fridge while I'm at it.

"I got distracted?" He says more of like a question.

"What distracted you?" I stop and place my hand on the counter.

"Just you in that really tight bikini." He bites his lip and his eyes rake over my body.

A soft blush creeps over my probably already sunburnt face.

"Since when did you become so romantic, Andrew? It's so unlike you." I softly giggle.

"I've always been like this. Just haven't done it for the right girl." He shrugs like it's nothing.

"Oh, so I'm the right girl?" My tongue licks the inside of my bottom lip.

"We'll talk later." He winks and moves past me.

"Ass hole." I mutter quietly to myself so that he wouldn't hear.

After eating, we all mess around in the pool a little bit before calling it a day.

I'm the first to leave only because we have school tomorrow and I'm not trying to be awake past ten o'clock if I have to wake up at six thirty.

Just as I leave, I get a phone call from Drew.

"Hey, what's up?" I pick up the call.

"We need to talk about us." His voice rings through the speaker.

"Go on." I continue to drive.

"I wanna be with you, Soph." He straight out says.

"And why couldn't you of told me this in person?" I sigh.

"I'm shy." He chuckles.

"Bullshit." I sigh once more.

"Well, I want to take you out soon, alright? If that's alright with you of course." He asks.

"Yeah, I would love to, Drew. Just let me know when." I tell him.

"Great. Text me when you're home." I can see his smile through the phone.

"Will do. Goodnight. Get home safe."

"Sophia, I live next door to Josh." He sighs at my dumb ass self.

"Oh right! My bad." I burst out laughing at my idiocy.

"Wow, that was extremely special."

"Hey! Don't make fun of me." I pout.

"It's hard not to when you're literally acting special." He chuckles.

"I'm leaving now." I shot at him.

"Don't leave." He pouts through the phone.

"Then stop bullying me." I whine.

"You're so cute." He tells me.

"Oh hush." I laugh.

"So, I was think-." Drew gets caught off by the sound of glass breaking and metal crashing together and that's all I remember.
