3rd person POV

"Doc, what's the problem?" Hailey looked at him worriedly.

"I'm sorry to say this but she has memory loss of the past 6 months." He lowered his head.

"I see." She breathes.

"Aside from having a broken ankle and two broken ribs, there's some other news we thought we'd might share with you." He continued.

"I'm listening." She looks up at him.

"Apparently your daughter was pregnant and she lost the baby. I understand that this news may be pretty hard for you but we want to work with Sophie and put her through therapy sessions until she recovers from this horrible accident." He explained.

"I understand, sir. Thank you." Hailey hung her head low and turned towards everyone.

Hailey explained the news to everybody which was hard at first but then they got to go to Sophie's recovery room and sit with her.

Soon after, the doctor came back in to talk to Hailey.

"Ma'am, the other individual involved in the accident has passed away. He was an underage drunk driver to make matters worse. Your daughter is extremely lucky to be alive right now." He tells her.

"Karma is a bitch." Hailey mutters.

"The individual was named Jacob." Everyone in the room except Sophie gasped.

"Why are you guys g-gasping?" Sophie barely spoke.

"Soph, you and Jacob dated briefly." Drew explained ever so kindly to the poor girl.

"No, I didn't." She argued.

"Sophie, you have memory loss and you don't remember anything that has happened over the past 6 months." Aly told her.

"Show me today's date." Sophie demanded.

Aly showed her the phone.

"It's almost my 17th birthday. I'm in complete shock. What else has happened?" She questioned.

"Well, you kind of had a miscarriage." Hailey tells her.

"I'm a virgin. How's that possible?" She looks around at everybody awkwardly.

Andrew coughs uncomfortably.

"Andrew?" Hailey raises an eyebrow at the curly haired boy before her.

"Sophia and I had sex once." He looks down ashamed.

"What now?" Sophie stares at him in disbelief.

"And you didn't use protection?" Hailey almost yelled.

Josh and Aly look at each other uncomfortably.

"We did but the condom must've broke. I'm sorry, Mrs. Gentile." Drew apologized.

"Why would we have sex if you don't even like me?" Sophie still remains on the subject.

"I do, Sophie. Before the accident, you agreed to go on a date with me." Drew admitted.

"Do you still like me?" She asked with sadness in her voice.

"Of course I do." He rubs her leg.

"Ahem." Hailey stared at the two.

"What, mom?" Sophie looked at her.

"No more sex without condoms. I don't want to be a grandmother at 40." She sighed.

"You got pregnant with Matthew before you were married though, mom." Katie budded in.

"Katelyn!" Hailey shouted.

"What? You were almost 21." Katie defended.

"And I was out of the airforce as an officer and working as a part time psychologist on base and I've been with your father since I was 16. I don't want to hear it." Hailey looked away.

"But they've known each other since they were 11!" Katie defended once more.

"Katelyn, do you want to be grounded?" Hailey asked seriously.

"No, ma'am." She sighed and slouched down.

"When am I being released from here?" Sophie whined to her mother.

"Soon, baby. I promise." Hailey kisses the top of her head.

"Get well soon, Soph." Josh said before leaving with a sleeping Aly in his arms.

"I'm staying." Drew grabbed Sophie's hand and squeezed it tightly.

"Forever?" Sophie yawned.

"Forever."
