Hello everyone, I'm back again with another chapter! I know I promised an update before the weekend was over, but I was dealing with a serious case of writer's block!

Hades had to cut my lesson short the other day.

Thanatos was the one who brought me home, and he wouldn't stop apologizing for interrupting us. I'd told him it was fine, breaking through the Elysian Fields had worn me out. I wouldn't have lasted long after that anyway. The force protecting the domain's border is very strong, simply approaching the entrance is difficult.

It wasn't long after that, that he transported us to my house. He opened up a portal with his hand, and immediately the front door to my house appeared. I turned to look at Thanatos, he seemed at ease, as if he did this every day. I noticed his transportation methods came easier to him than to Hades.

I remember he told me once that his powers depleted on Earth, and that he had a set time limit before his abilities failed him considerably. What made Thanatos different? Does he have a time limit as well? And if he does, is it longer than Hades' is?

I give him a contemplative look, and he closes his eyes to turn to me. He raises a brow.

"What is the matter, my queen?" he asks, taking notice of my stare. I tilt my head to the side.

"Can you even see me?" I ask, curiously. Thanatos smiles, "Yes, clearly."

"How?" I ask, furrowing my brows. It just doesn't make sense how he can see me with his eyes closed, it's impossible!

Well, technically, it shouldn't be surprising. Floating people and men with wings are also something that shouldn't exist- and yet Hades and Thanatos proved me wrong. So, I guess if I take that into account, I shouldn't really be amazed.

Beside me, Thanatos chuckles. He gestures to the open portal and motions for me to cross over.

"I'm a god," he replies, stepping over the mirage of smoke after me, "I have abilities superior to that of the mortal body."

I nod, watching him wave his hand in front of the portal- closing it. It still didn't make sense. If he knew that, then why did he look me in the eye the first time we met? He knew I was human, why did he keep his eyes open if he knew I could fall under their trance? It nearly killed me!

"I hadn't encountered a live, human soul in thousands of years- my queen, I suppose you could say I had fallen out of practice," Thanatos pipes up, earning a flat look from me. He winces.

"Pardon me, your grace. Lord Hades had mentioned your dislike for mind-reading. It's a habit of mine- I pick up on it instinctually," he apologizes, watching me unlock the door. I sigh.

"It's fine, Hades said the same thing. I can't fault you for something that comes naturally to you," I say quietly, wondering what it must be like. It must be cool being able to hear what people are thinking. It would be easy to tell whether or not someone was lying to you.

Thanatos gives me a thoughtful look.

"Lord Hades had planned to show you how to do so yourself- had I not interrupted perhaps you would have been able to discover another ability," he says regretfully, looking at the clock on the wall. He seems to realize something as I follow the direction of his gaze.

"I must retire to the Underworld, my queen. I am afraid there are responsibilities I must attend to. Once again, I apologize for the interruption-" he starts. I raise a hand, silencing him- he abruptly shuts up.
