Hi guys! I'm back with another chapter and tired as ever. I just finished finals, and I'm pretty sure I didn't pass my class, so I'm still stressed out, lol. But I'm happy to be back on my computer and ready to write the last two chapters of this story.

Is there anything you'd like to see in the epilogue? If there is, comment what it is down below!

*Helios is the titan of the sun and god of eyesight.

P.S. Sorry for the long chapter guys, I didn't know whether or not to separate it into two chapters. I had promised two more, not three-- so I felt bad, lol.

Life is a currency only Fate and mortal beings understand.

To the gods, life is meaningless-- and so is time. They pay the price of hundreds of human lives to atone for a wrongdoing they committed against another god. They use us as the leverage to force each other into submission for a tantrum one had, and they treat us as if we're beneath them for having been born mortal.

So in a sense, my life is a form of payment.

And with that in mind, I extend a hand to Helios' door, knocking on it lightly. After a disappointing trip to Poseidon's realm, Hecate suggested we visit the titan of the sun. He oversees everything on Earth during the day and catches glimpses of its movements at night as he rides his chariot from east to west. Since I swallowed the passage bead Athena gave me, we figured now was the best time to pay him a visit.

His house is simple, but it's beautiful.

It's stationed on an island continents away from Poseidon's home, and is the size of an average house-- not an enormous palace with guards at every gate. Its walls are painted a pale yellow, its window shutters and door frame are white, and its large double doors are made of black wood. To top it all off, surrounding his grassy front garden is a white Pickett fence-- one that makes his home look like it belongs to a picture perfect family.

Grazing his healthy pastures are a herd of beautiful, fat cows. Each holds a gleam on its coat as they move beneath their master's warm sunlight, remaining the only unusual thing about the pretty house. I raise a brow as the sound of horses different to ours cause Aethon to start neighing and stomping his hooves uncontrollably.

I'm about to knock on the door again when it suddenly squeaks open.

A man with brilliant blonde hair and stoic brown eyes answers the door, lifting his eyebrows when he takes in his company. He doesn't look surprised as he silently extends an arm inside and ushers us into his home, stiffening when Thanatos walks past him with a frigid and impassive expression.

"What brings you to my abode, Dwellers of the Underworld?" he asks coolly, bringing us to a table set with dining utensils and steaming food. He's been expecting us. I guess it shouldn't be shocking, since he can see and hear all the movement that happens on the surface. He probably heard us planning to ascend when we left Poseidon's palace.

"We came seeking your insight," I respond, reaching to uncover the hood of my cloak as I take a seat. Helios closes the door behind him before turning to face us, widening his eyes when they settle on me. His lips part slightly open, surprised.

"The mortal from the dark realm!" he whispers in awe, approaching me and taking my hand, "I hadn't believed them when they said-"

He suddenly pauses, taking a minute to look me over. He eyes me from top to bottom in assessment, bringing my hand to his lips while he drinks in the image of the mortal girl the gods have been talking about. I know because I manage to catch a glimpse of his thoughts-- Hecate and I have been working on my new ability. I developed it around the same time my hands erupted in sparks, I just hadn't noticed it because it's a subtle power.
