I want to start this off by saying thank you to my readers for sticking around this long, and for loving this book as much as I do...

Queen of Hell of & Paradise was originally created as a side project. As an avid reader, I was constantly scouring the bookshelves of my school and city library in search of my next read.

I fell in love with books of all kinds of genres-- Fantasy, Paranormal, Mystery, Nonfiction, Fiction, Young Adult, New Adult and of course, Romance! I grew to love authors like Sarah Dessen, Kelly Oram, Lauren Barnholdt, Jodi Picoult, and Janette Rallison among many others.

I could stay up all night devouring their books like cheesecake, but at some point as I grew older, my interests began to change.

Instead of tolerating self-righteous protagonists who had a fondness for slut-shaming and demonstrated many toxic traits of internal misogyny, I began an almost useless pursuit for books that featured a strong MC with sass, a love for makeup, and a unique perspective on life, relationships, and morals.

I noticed a persistent presence of a female antagonist in popular genres like Teen Fiction and New Adult-- characters solely created to be one-dimensional, who oppose the protagonist and serve one primary purpose-- to make the love story between the romantic interest and the main character complicated and spicy

They're portrayed in a negative light for being sexually active (a.k.a promiscuous) or for being confident in their own skin and are often times referred to with derogatory terms.

Queen of Hell & Paradise was written as an ode to these misunderstood female characters, and is dedicated to women who enjoy kissing more than one boy, who enjoy wearing racy dresses without feeling guilty, who make their own imprint on the world in their own little way, and who speak their minds despite being told not to.

Samantha has become such a powerful embodiment of this-- a symbol of my own maturity and growth as an individual.

Perhaps it was just me growing tired of the same recycled plot, but I yearned for something far more fulfilling in a character than this sad standard of hating on girls who have much potential to become empowering figures for women. So, I decided to craft a world in which a girl who housed all of these traits weaponized them in a cool, badass manner...

It allowed me to express my creativity through a healthy medium, and infuse it with ideas I've been eager to share with the world. I think it's pretty cool that I get to create something this special and have it so well received by an online audience.

I don't even know where to begin thanking all of my readers! Thank you for accompanying Samantha throughout her entire journey, for loving her flaws and all, and for appreciating Hades as the strong, silent type of guy he is. I am grateful for you all!

A special thanks to my good friend @gtgrandom ! Thank you for stickling around for as long as you did!
