Hi my loves! Just letting you all know the last chapter has been edited. I wasn't satisfied with the first version I published, I felt the whole 'love confession' and discussion of kids were a little awkward (and premature), and so did some of you. So, it has since been smoothed out and replaced <3

Also, the epilogue will be posted shortly after this...

Agapiménos- Beloved

As usual, I finished this chapter really late into the night. So go easy on me, guys! lol

His hand is warm in mine.

I look at him walking regally at my side in the peaceful silence of the woods. He emanates an aura of power with his quiet and observant attitude, even while we aren't in the Underworld. The people with the most power don't always show it off, it's usually noticeable in the way they walk, and the way they talk.

And Hades is no different. His power lies in the unwavering stare he sometimes gives people, and in the intense nature of his character. Sometimes, it's even in the way he sets his lips closely together, letting you know not to push his buttons. That sums him up pretty well, actually-- quiet, reserved, cautious, and with a penchant for saying things that make my heart flutter.

He turns to look at me, lifting a curious brow.

It makes my breathing stop for a quick second, letting me admire how perfect he is. From the lean structure of his face and the stark contrast of his ebony locks against his smooth, pale skin, to the way his tall body has a solid, strong undertone to it. His eyebrows, his nose, his eyes-- he's the epitome of good looks.

Not to mention he's the nicest guy on the planet. Does he even have a malicious bone on his body? He doesn't seem like the type of guy I'd usually go for. My taste in boys seems to be a little off, especially if you count the boyfriends I dated on and off during my breakups with Luke.

I went out with Jake, our school's quarterback. He's okay as far as my exes go, but he was a little too much like me for the relationship to last. At times, he was a little too self-involved for my liking, he enjoyed the company of a few other cheerleaders on my team, and he was always busy working out or spending time with his rowdy friends.

My freshmen year, I dated a soccer player named Eddy. He was okay too, but he preferred playing video games during his free time rather than spending it with me. That lasted for like two weeks, until another boy caught my short-lived interest. It seemed that I could never stay single for long, maybe it's because I grew lonely in my big house, or maybe it was because I felt it gave me some kind of control over what I did and with whom.

But it was only satisfying for a short while. It's hard to say Hades is the reason I don't feel empty anymore, but he might be a large part of it.

"What do you think of, my love?" he asks, squeezing my hand. I smile, tugging his arm back so he'll stop walking. He looks surprised for a second, but he lets me pull him to me as I angle my head up to press my lips on his.

"Nothing. This is just nice," I breathe, kissing him before letting him go. We resume our walk again, this time making it all the way to the end of the thick trees without me tackling him to the ground. This marks our third attempt at returning to the soldiers, the last two times we unsuccessfully made it halfway there.

Hades had told me about how close I'd been to finding him, and that he knew I'd given Zeus the power in the pendant thinking it was him. And I just couldn't stop thinking about how lucky I was to have found him alone-- I could probably jump his bones as a ways of welcome and no one would have known.
