Katherine’s POV

I’d finished work earlier today, Charlie telling me I’d worked overtime the past few weeks and I need to rest for a bit. I’d spent the past couple of nights at Cameron’s, just hanging out and catching up, not that we had much catching up to do, we are best friends. Seen as I had no work to do, I walked around town idly, not really doing much. I walked in and out of shops, briefly looking through items in case I saw something I might like. No such luck with any of that so I took my way down to Starbucks for a much needed coffee.

Standing in line I make sure I have a decent book in my bag because seen as I had nothing else to do today, I figured sitting in and reading a little something would pass the time quite sufficiently. Ordering a latte and blueberry muffin, I take my tray and cross the shop to the little table near the window that I could sit at. Settling down in the chair, I pull Giovanna Fletcher’s Billy and Me out of my bag and begin to read about Sophie May’s secret for the billionth time. I’d loved this book from its first chapter when I bought it last year. Being a fan of McFly, I’d heard about the book and decided, because of my love for reading, I’d purchase it and see what it was like. I’m glad I did, it’s a beautiful story.

I hadn’t been reading long, nibbling my muffin and taking sips of my coffee alongside, when Brad strolled through the door with Connor and he sat down at my table whilst Connor ordered five coffees and muffins. “Afternoon stranger,” Brad coos whilst picking a bit of my muffin and popping it into his mouth. I chuckle at him and pass the rest of it towards them both so that they could finish it off. “Aren’t you supposed to be at work?”

“Charlie sent me home early,” I answer with a shrug of my shoulders. He smirks at me and I roll my eyes.

“Right, well I’m guessing Brad is staying with you so I’m gonna head off and I’ll catch you later. Bye Katie.” Connor chimes in, giving Brad his coffee and handling the other four – the extra coffees I’m guessing for the other lads – and walks out the door, shouting a final goodbye towards Bradley and me.

“So, what’s todays plan then?” Brad asks me as I place my book back into my bag after he’d examined it first and made a comment about me being a fan-girl. To be quite honest, I was a little annoyed with Bradley when he told me him and the boys had toured with McFly a couple of times because I was a little jealous of him. I’m not obsessed with the band but I wouldn’t exactly be upset to meet them if I got the chance.

“I need to do some food shopping for home but other than that, nothing at all.” I reply nonchalantly. I knew Brad would offer to come with me and help out so I just stand up, throw my bag over my shoulder and head towards the door. As expected, he picks himself up too and follows me out of the shop and towards the local supermarket. It was a ten minute walk to Sainsbury’s but Bradley insisted we’d take his car, so we walked back to the studios first and then drove to our destination. I strolled on in after we’d parked up and once I chose a trolley, I continue to walk down the aisles to the meat section.

As we normally do, we chat about random things and make ourselves laugh at our stupidity. This time Bradley decided it would be an exceptional idea to ride the trolley down the cereal aisle and crash into one of the stands filled with various boxes and send them crashing to the floor. It was a race to pick them back up and place them neatly back where there were previously, before someone came and told him off for being so stupid in the first place. He was an idiot but he made up for it by helping an elderly lady pick a jar off of the top shelf that she couldn’t reach herself. I smile to myself as I watch the display of kindness and again when two young teenage girls spotted him and asked for a photo with him. I let him talk to his fans for a little while longer, gesturing that I’ll be in the snacks aisle and walk away hearing one of the two girls asking if I was his girlfriend and him laughing hysterically at the question.
