I wait for Sona to come to the village and start to think back to when I last saw Mattaton. He actually went back to the village to live with Napstablook and still making videos to appease his all important ratings. He even had me and Frisk over to do a weird challenge.
"You want us to do what?" I asked.
"Darling, I want you and Frisk to try and dance like I do." Mettaton said. "It's called the Mettaton challenge."
"Absolutely not." I said and started to leave.
"Guess Frisk will be the lone winner." Mettaton said. "Branden's too chicken."
I sighed and moved to stand on one leg with my right leg bent backwards as I leaned and looked over my shoulder. "Like this?"
"Oh yes, Darling!" Mettaton shouted. "Just look at these ratings!"
I'm snapped back to reality when I see Sona walk into the village and look around for me. I make my way towards her. "Glad you got here safely." I say as I approach her.
"I had to lie to my father on where I was going." She says. "I don't know who he hates more, the monsters or you."
"You'll forgive me if I don't care what the mayor thinks of me." I say. "I just had to go through teaching a class after being triggered by accident."
"What happened?" She asks.
"Not important, but for now I'll introduce you to a few friends of mine." I say. "Let's start with Papyrus and Undyne. They should be training right now." I offer my hand to her and she takes it before we teleport to the open field before Spears and bones go flying around the area. Hold my hand out and block a few stray attacks as I notice them coming around. "They haven't noticed us yet."
"You didn't tell them that we're coming?" Sona asks.
"They wouldn't remember anyways." I say and lower my shield. "Pap! Undyne! Come here!"
"Branden?" Undyne asks. "What are you doing here?!" She and Papyrus make their way over to us and I smile. "Weren't you supposed to be showing those punks at school how to use magic?"
"Sans came and took over for me, for now I'm going to show my friend around our village and hope she sees Monsters like I do." I say. "Sona, this is Papyrus and Undyne."
"You're, like, a friend of Branden's?" Undyne asks. Sona nods and I smile. "That's awesome!"
"What?" Sona asks.
"I haven't met any of Branden's human friends yet!" Undyne says.
"Neither have I, and any friend of Branden's is a friend to the Great Papyrus." She seems startled at first, but she takes a step back and does what I know her to do. "Hmm? Are we scaring Sona?"
"It was just a lot to take in at first." Sona says. "But, Branden did say you were both energetic."
"I'm so pumped! I want to see what all you can do!" Undyne says and I intervene.
"She's not a fighter, Undyne." I say. "She's more of a healer and defensive style."
"Oh, so like Alphys." Undyne says. "That's still cool, but I was looking forward to a huge epic duel with someone from the surface."
"Why?" Sona asks. "I thought you said the Monsters were peaceful." Sona glares at me.
"They are, shes not talking like a war fight, Sona." I say. "She watches a lot of anime fights with Alphys."
"Oh." Sona says and turns back to Undyne. "You know those fights aren't real, right?"
"Well yeah, they were in a show." Undyne says. "But Branden has shown me that people actually fight like that on the surface!"
