"Thank you, class!" The last period teacher greets us with a cheerful wave as the bell rings. I think she's my favorite teacher so far.

"Thank you, Ms Winnie." Everyone greets back, polite as we packed up our things and started to leave. I was sitting with Avril for this class. And every other class for that matter. No matter which class we went, the teachers were dead set on both of us sitting together. Seems like the school is happy in deciding to place me in care of her.

"Let's go, pretty boy." Avril says besides me with her arms crossed, impatient.

I pick up the books the different teachers had given me today and nodded a let's go.

We were about to leave when..

"Niall, Avril!" The teacher calls out to us. I looked to her. Avril groaned behind me. You see, all the teachers have been stopping me after class to welcome us to the school and stuff. After which, Avril started to complain to me about.

She came to us with a cheery skip and went in for a hug with me. I accepted it as she was too preppy to refuse. Plus, she was my teacher after all. She pulled away after awhile and fluffed her hair down. She was not that old, probably 6.. 7 years older than me, tops.

"The school has officially agreed to let you have a week of no assignments to allow you to be enriched with the schools extra curricular activities and get to know and explore the school with a deeper insight."

I grinned at the mention of no homework for a week.

"Can I have a homework-free week too?" Avril raises an eyebrow. "I'll probably be the one who has to take him around, right?"

"Right." The teacher nods sheepishly at me, but then giggles as she crossed her arms, looking to Avril. "I would give the pass to you.. But who are we kidding? You never do your homework."

"I guess that's true." Avril tries to hide her smile but fails. Something tells me she has a weak spot for this teacher.

"Alright, bye." She greets us and we greet her back, walking away.

Avril puts her arm on my shoulder to rest as we walked when the teacher suddenly yelled.

"You two look cute together!"

This made Avril immediately remove her arm that had revealed to me that she had a certain scent of dangerous and mysterious.

Avril started walking faster ahead of me and I had to catch up to her, seeing her face was filled with a frown. She looks to me and she doesn't say anything except scoffs.

I sighed, running my hand through my hair. No girl's ever reacted this way when someone comments on the two of us. It usually was filled with blushes and giggles from them and we would move on after that.

Now... now it just feels weird.

"She was just kidding." I tried to lift the spirits back up again. Not like it's that high to begin with. "She knows we're not together."

Avril raises her eyebrow at my words, confused. "I wasn't pissed about her thinking we were together. I don't care if we were."

I almost blushed when she said that. What does she mean by that?

"She said we were cute." Avril growls angrily, looking at me helplessly then whines, covering her face. "Cute!"

"What's wrong with that?" I said. Now i'm confused. Being cute is a good thing.

""I don't do cute!" She points at herself, and I looked at her, seeing her outfit again. She had highlights in her hair, cool outfit. Oh. "Puppies are cute, kittens are cute, you are cute, but Avril Lavigne is not cute."

I then blushed. She had called me cute.

Never in my life have I heard someone call me cute and sound so insulting at the same time.

When she saw me blushing, her eyes widened and she looked back in front, changing subject of conversation immediately.
