Chapter 13

Third Person

"How did you know... about everything?" Sean slowly spoke; a small raspiness hids in his breath. He stood still, and held his breath for (Y/n)'s answer; he wanted to know urgently, because his heart was going to explode out of distress if she didn't respond.

(Y/n) stared at Sean, gulping away her possible answers. She couldn't believe it was real, and she wished it isn't. The fact that she would let her emotions controlled her and make her slip the most important thing out—the most important that will break her relationship with the brothers. She knew she wouldn't hide the truth from them forever, but she didn't expect for it to break out at such a sorrowful and intense time.

(Y/n)'s chin trembled slightly, and the trailed of tears were still visible on her face. As she opened her mouth, many answers and thoughts bombarded her, like it was giving a clue that it was her fault. Her stomach twisted and turned, just like someone was squeezing a soaking cloth inside of her, and it hurt her mentally and physically. She never knew this much emotions can be felt so deeply at the same time.

(Y/n) closed her eyes and let out a shaky breath, and her fingers twitched along, followed by her restraining vocals. "I'm going to tell you the truth, and you'll have to believe me...," she quivered, and she clenched onto her fists to stop the uncontrollable shaking that her troubled mind was doing the work of. Her words will determine everything on forward, and that made her really scared. She didn't want to lose Sean and Daniel. She said she hates Sean, but it was only to show how angry she was at him. If she loses Sean and Daniel, what purpose would she have? She'd already lost everything back in her world, so her confession frightened her dangerously.

Sean did not answer, but he gave her a curious and worried look back. He was scared of what she was going to say, reminding himself that it will be the truth, claimed by her.

"You're..." Her voice was weak. She narrowed her eyes and let out a deep sigh before speaking again; that gave her time to prepare for everything once more.

As she quickly thought, a sudden rush of emotions overwhelmed her, so she blurted it out before she was even ready. "You're ... in a video game!" She nervously bit her lips and averted her eyes immediately. After blurting it out, it sounded more like a joke than the truth, and she regretted saying it without looking at his eyes sincerely.

Sean stepped forward, he and shook his head in disbelief. "(Y/n), what the hell are you talking about?" His tone was filled with distrust. "You said you were going to tell me the truth!"

"It is the truth!" she cried out. She clenched onto her chest; it had started to throb violently. Her eyes wandered to the floor, avoiding all the doubtful looks on Sean's face.

"Please ... just quit the bullshit." He looked at her. "Who are you, (Y/n)?" he asked. "Who are you really?"

The more Sean spoke, the more (Y/n) noticed that his energy had became slightly distant and filled with doubt. Why did all of this had to happened so quickly? She was not ready to lose anyone and everything else.

Her throat tightened, and her eyes stung with tears. She stepped forward Sean, but he stepped back.

Her heart sank.
