Chapter 8

Second Universe

(Y/n)

Daniel folded his arms. "So, this is the restaurant you were talking about, Finn?"

In front of them was a tiny store—like extremely tiny. Maybe the size of a trailer house. Nothing much was really expected, since they were in an area of Humboldt that only grounds and grasslands meet.

"Come on," Sean placed his hand on Daniel's shoulder. "lets go get some food." He glanced at (Y/n); she returned a look back.

"How are you holding up?" he asked as they walked.

(Y/n) puckered her lips. "I'm doing okay."

"Um... Let's go see if they have a phone you could use."

"Yeah—thanks."

Cassidy and Finn followed with their dog trickling behind them. (Y/n) had to admit, the dog was pretty cute, and he was so obedient.

"When did you two meet?" Cassidy asked as they walked towards the mini store. She sounded like she was smirking. "She wasn't there at the Christmas market when I met you and Daniel."

"Who? (Y/n)?" Sean questioned, and looked back at Cassidy and Finn. "We met like just a day ago?"

"Darn, I thought she was your girlfriend, dude," Finn chuckled. He always sounded like he was high, but he wasn't.

(Y/n) eyes grew big, and she blushed. "N-no... No, Finn." (Y/n) laughed out her bashfulness.

Do we actually look like a couple?

Sean let out an embarrassed laugh, and it was cute. "We're not a thing. (Y/n) is a really nice girl—"

"And she's mine!" Daniel cut off with a giggle. "I gave her Mushroom's bandana, and that was my confession to her," he stated proudly.

(Y/n) let out a chuckle. "Really?" Her hands slid in to her jacket pockets. "You're adorable, Daniel." She smiled at him with more chuckles that she couldn't hold back.

"Um—I was the one who bandaged her up with the idea and bandana," Sean defensively said back.

"Damn—(Y/n)," Cassidy cooed and elbowed her on the arm, "two brothers are in love with you."

"Stop," (Y/n) said jokingly, "you're making this weird when it's not." She couldn't help it but grinned broadly at the ground. Act cool, she thought with a burning neck.

"I'm not going to let you take (Y/n), because you're so irresponsible, Daniel," Sean joked. His tired feet stomped on to the rocky, yet green ground.

Daniel playfully pushed Sean with a giggle. "You, too!"

The four of them, including the dog, entered the small store and started scouting for any type of foods. (Y/n) specifically looked for female products; it would be a pain if she didn't have any when she needed them.

In her wallet, she had about 20 bucks and a few cents; she'd usually spend it on food during lunch in high school, but now it was spent on survival items. What a big difference, she have thought and sighed. She grabbed some foods and went to find Sean and Daniel. (And it wasn't that hard to find them.)
