CHAPTER 21: I Couldn't, Could I?
*****

Deliah's POV

"So, I was thinking for today's shoot we could take some pictures at the pond in the park." Damon says finishing off his burger leaving more food on his mouth than in his stomach. We were currently at the mall discussing ideas for me and Keanu's shoot. It's been almost a week since the drama at school and I haven't seen him since. The logical part of my brain doesn't want to see him but constantly looking through the millions of pictures of him on my phone isn't very satisfying, or atleast not satisfying enough.

"You know, I'm not sure if I want to do the shoot today." I say looking through my phone, Keanu just posted a pic of him and a few cheerleaders wearing non-existent clothing.

"And why not?" he asks. "You know, I already told yo-"

"Damon, I said it's fine. My crush on Keanu was basically over. That's why I said no, remember? So all this car drama didn't really affect me and I'm used to Andreen and her gossiping." I shrug but he doesn't look 100% convinced. He looks... angry? His locked jaw makes me turn around to see what he's looking at. I turned my head to see a group of about 5 jocks pervertedly flirting with 2 cheerleaders, that's when I noticed a certain football player sucking lips with Ashley, the dumbest of them all. Our staring caught the attention of two football players.

"Damon! My man! You got the cable?" One of the jocks yelled.

Suddenly an enraged Damon stood up but I pushed him back down again. "It's alright, I got this." I said calmly taking the cable from him. Angry-Damon meant extremely-violent-Damon.

The walk over to them took forever. "Thanks, pretty lady" Nate winks at me when I hand him the cable and that unfortunately causes Keanu to look up.

"Hey, Deliah" he greets with a smirk not even bothering to wipe the awful shade of red off his lips. This was the first time he called me by my name and it stung. I gave him the nastiest of all nasty looks in return. Taken back he asked if everything was alright.

"No, everything is not alright, asshole!" I spit at him, death glaring at the cheerleader out of the corner of my eye.

"Woah, Deliah. You said no, remember? So you have no reason to be mad and, dare I even say, jealous. We had our share of fun" he says causing the cheerleader to smirk. "But if you're suggesting that we take up the car-" I slap him across his face before he could finish, the sound echoing through the food court along with the snickers of his friends. And with a burning hand I adjust the bag on my shoulder and  walked off to the bathroom.

I grip the marble counter and stare at my blazing eyes trying to control what I'm feeling inside. But the truth is I'm not even sure what I'm feeling. Anger? Hurt? Jealousy? Betrayal? Yes, I did say no, but he moved on in the blink of an eye. So what would've been the outcome if I had said yes?

I hear the bathroom door open and Ashley struts inside. She stands beside me as she observes herself in the mirror, fixing her hair and makeup while simultaneously looking at me in the mirror.

"You know, he never even liked you." she says swiping her finger across her bottom lip. "He just wanted to see if it was possible, you know?" she says turning her whole body to me now.

"See if what was possible?" I asked through gritted teeth.

"Fucking the unfuckable." she ends with a smirk. I react before the corner of her mouth could fully lift and plunge my fist into her fake nose. I'm pretty sure I heard a crack. Before she could scream my hand covers her mouth, not caring about the blood flowing from her nose, while my other goes around pulling on her blonde locks.
