CHAPTER 22: THE HOTTEST GIRL
*****Deliah's POV
Monday morning came around faster than I'd hoped and the last period even faster. I haven't spoken to Keanu since the foodcourt and I'm about to sit next to him for a whole hour.
When the bell rang for last period I walked as slowly as possible to class and made sure I was the last person to enter. I saw him sitting in the corner and the stupid butterflies appeared as always, but I forced them away. He was an asshole to me so that's what I'm going to treat him like.
I slid into my seat just as the teacher entered. I focused silently on the lesson without any distractions or interruptions from Keanu, that's untill Ms. Evans finished explaining and gave us worksheets to complete for the rest of the period, meaning we could do whatever she wanted while she was on her phone or went out for a smoke.
"Soo..." he said staring at me, biting his lip. I slightly turned my head to him with a raised eyebrow.
"Look, I'm sorry for being-"
"An asshole, a jerk, a dick, an emotionless-"
"Okay, yeah. All of the above. Look" he says taking my hand but I retract it which causes him to take it again. "I'm sorry, Deliah. I was a jerk and never should have done that."
"Done what exactly?" I ask taking my hand out of his.
"Everything." he says running his fingers through his hair.
"Look, let me make it up to you. How about we-" he starts but I cut him off.
"Nope. But I'm sure Ashley is free. Or you know, Chelsea. Or wait, are you and Andreen still a thing? Cause I heard you and Natalie-"
"Damn, are you really that mad at me?" he laughs. "but I guess I deserve you throwing all that in my face. It's not like there's any shame attached." he shrugs
"So you don't feel guilty? Not even a little?" I ask truly shocked.
"Well, I mean I felt like shit when I betrayed Nate. But that's all in the past."
"So you don't care about the millions of hearts you break?"
"Let them man up. I'm sure they can get other girlfriends." he shrugs with a boyish smile.
I lightly punch his shoulder. "You know what I mean."
"The thing is, all the girls know what they're getting into from the start and if they don't, then I make sure they know. So, why should I feel guilty?" he asks.
"So you take all the girls on multiple dates and buy them jewelry? Not really the best financial decisions." I point out just as the bell rings.
"But the thing is, I dont like dates, I actually despise them, their just a waste of time, so I usually take the girl straight to my or her place unless we're you know, at a party or something" he then leans in and whispers in my ear "the truth is, I've only ever been on a date, or in the case dates, with one girl." he slowly pulls away and smiles before picking up his bag and leaving the class. It took my mind about ten seconds to process what he said and when I did, it felt like, not just my cheeks, but my entire body was on fire. After my mini panic attack, I notice that everyone has left so I quickly pack up my things.
I try not to follow him, even though I am technically following him because we're both headed towards the field, so I walk about ten feet behind him. When we arrive at the field I take in my usual spot on the bleachers and take out my camera and the book I'm currently reading. After some reading I snap a few action pictures of Keanu, sometimes moving around to get a better angle. I try to focus on my reading and the pictures I'm taking, but the view of the cheerleaders on my left keep catching my attention.
