Boys

 Grade 9. How exciting is that?! I thought as I walked down the hallways of my new high school. My best friend Annalise by my side and a big zip up binder hugged against my chest. It was the very first day of school and boy was it ever amazing. Wearing my new school clothes and makeup I felt so great! It was lunch and Annalise and I were trying to find our group of friends. Annalise and I were kind of the two most popular girls in our grade and Annalise was kind of like the leader of our group. Annalise spotted the other 5 girls and pulled towards them. 

 "Hey girls! Where are we eating today?" Annalise called towards them. 

 "Why not here by our lockers," Janae called back. We walked quickly towards where the girls had put there cute backpacks. Janae, Kira, Sydney, Paige and Jessica all sat against the lockers. I sat down beside Kira as Annalise sat down beside me. We all took out our lunches and began to eat. We talked about our mornings and how we liked our classes. Some of the girls gossiped about people in there class that are not "cool" and they wished they didn't have class with.

 "Hey girls, look over there at that guy," Annalise suddenly blurted out.

 "Which guy?" I asked.

 "The one with the blonde hair and grey hoodie. Isn't he so cute?" Annalise replied. We all nodded and giggled. He was cute but I thought his friend with brown hair and blue hoodie was super cute.

 "Hello Melody! Are you there?" Jessica asked.

 "Mmm-hmm," I answered, staring at the guy in the blue hoodie.

 "I think Melody likes one of those guys over there," Annalise blurted out. The girls all giggled and asked me which one I thought was cute. I made them try to guess but eventually told them. They all agreed that he was cute too and that I should totally date him.

 "I can't ask him out!" I blurted out a little too loudly. I then noticed that he was looking at me. I gave him a quick smile and he smiled back. My heart fluttered with excitement. He likes me! I thought to myself. For the rest of lunch I watched him out of the corner of my eye. He occasionally looked my way and smiled. 

His name is Ian I found out in art class the day after I first saw him. That whole week I couldn't stop looking at him, in class and at lunch. He was just so cute and I wanted to date him so badly! I waited that whole week and almost gave up hope that he would actually like me. Then that next week, as I was eating lunch with my girl-friends, he walked up and asked me if I wanted to walk around with him once I was done eating. I was a bit embarrassed but said yes. I ate as quickly as I could. He waited patiently with his friends and as soon as I was finished eating we walked around chatting about our hobbies and classes, our families and just life. He even walked me to my class! We did this everyday for the next 4 weeks, getting to know each other very well and telling each other some of our secrets and deeper feelings. 

After about 4 weeks Ian asked me to be his girlfriend! I said yes immediately. I loved having his company and doing things together. My parents were a little bit unsure but said it was ok. We went on a date at least once a week, sometimes going skating or going out for supper or just hanging out at one of our houses. This went on for 3 months.
