Out of here

Rules.... schedules..... and a bunch of things that were not heard. I sat there seeming like I was listening when in reality I was off in my head, trying to find a way to escape this place. I realized that waiting was not going to be an option, I was going to have to do it that night. I planned it all then. First I would sneak out once everyone was asleep, taking my backpack of things with me. Next I would carefully sneak towards the horse pasture and head out of camp that way. Then from there I would figure out which way I would be heading. If I got caught then they would probably send me home so either way I was getting out of this place. Just as Jessalyn was finishing her explanation I came back to reality.

"Does anyone have any questions?" Jessalyn asked. Everyone shook there heads, "Ok sounds good. Lets all get ready to go to the giant swing then," Jessalyn announced. Everyone stood up quickly and scrambled to get to there rooms to get ready. I leisurely walked out of the living room and towards the room I was staying in. I got ready slowly, almost stalling, hoping they would forget about me. That didn't really work because Jessalyn came and made sure that everyone was out of the rooms. I thought about hiding, but it was too late, she was standing in the door of my room.

 "Coming Melody?" Jessalyn asked.

"I guess," I replied quietly, shrugging my shoulders. Jessalyn walked with me down the stairs and out the door. She didn't say anything but I could tell there was something different about the way she acted towards me. She seemed to WANT to be with me. It felt nice but I decided that I wasn't going to get attached. Remember you are going to be leaving tonight Melody, I thought to myself.

The day went by and I didn't really try to participate or get to know anyone. All the girls in my group seemed like they already had their groups, so why try. They would just reject me anyways. I was determined not to like it there, so isolating myself was also a way to keep myself set on the plan I had for that evening. As the evening rolled around and we were getting ready for bed after our guy/girl time, I made sure I had everything I would need for that night. I had my jacket, extra sweater, a change of clothes, shoes, small blanket, guitar in it's case, my canteen, water bottle, notebook, pens, a flashlight and some other miscellaneous things. I was set and ready to go.

Everyone settled into bed at around 12:00 and by 1:00 I knew everyone in my room was asleep. I slowly crept down from my top bunk and quickly changed into sweats and a sweater. I grabbed my things and snuck out of the room. Luckily the front door was unlocked, so I slipped out quietly and quickly. I ran across the road that goes through the camp and around the pond, just to be sure no one saw me. I went around the petting zoo and into the horse pasture. From there I walked for about an hour.

Meanwhile, in Shalom.....

 Thump.

"Jessalyn, what are you doing?" Taylor asks.

"I'm just checking on the girls to make sure they're all good," I replied. I walked to the room that's right beside mine and all the girls were sound asleep. I checked the next room. At first everything seemed normal but then I noticed that Melody's bunkbed looked empty. I checked and she wasn't there. I ran back to my room and woke Taylor up.

 "Taylor! Melody is gone!"
