Q: Why make Bearclaw and Mistystorm mates?
A: Since they are foster siblings, it may seem odd for the two cats to become mates. However, from the start, I wanted a power couple in these book and these two cats were the perfect fit. Besides, they're not blood related at all and they're cats, so it really is not a big deal that the foster siblings eventually became mates. It has happened in the Warriors series before (Brindleface and Whitestorm), so I guess there isn't a problem with it. They just eventually grew feelings for each other as they grew older and that blossomed into something more.
