Q: Why does Daisystar, a minor character, become leader?

A: In the Warriors books, it was always a major character who became leader in the main Clan. Firestar and Bramblestar were both major characters. My original plan was for Bearclaw to be chosen as deputy after Swiftfang's death, not Daisybloom. However, since he has not mentored an apprentice yet, I had to choose another cat. So, Daisybloom was that cat. She had some sort of a role in Addertooth's Story as Addertooth's apprentice when she was half blinded, but she faded into the background quickly afterward. You know what I said before? I wanted uniqueness. So, out of all of the cats who have mentored, I chose Daisybloom. She was always a favorite minor character of mine, so I loved to make her deputy then leader. It's nice to give minor characters a chance.
