Current Day
A.K.A TWO YEARS LATER

Dipper Pines

Dipper was thankful for the moments of free time he got on occasion. It gave him time to collect his thoughts.

It had all been overwhelming. The last two years on the sea he had seen monsters he could only dream of. Sea Serpents, Hydra's, Giant Man-Eating Goldfish, it had all been so crazy.

Not to mention the curse he had gotten placed on him his first day aboard the ship.

Dipper clutched the shell necklace through his shirt. He always had it on, tucked under his shirt ever since Captain Ford had told Mabel to give it to him. He was told that as long as the shell was in contact with his skin that he would be safe.

Although, Dipper often wondered what had happened to Captain Ford. He hadn't known for captain for very long, but after he had left, Stan had allowed Dipper to read Ford's notes and journals on the supernatural creatures he had met in his travels. After reading said journals, he had only become more eager to meet Ford once again, to discuss the journals in greater detail. He wanted to know everything.

But alas, Ford hadn't been heard from since the day he left. Stan seemed unfazed by this fact, although Dipper was sure he had regretted letting Ford leave as he did.

Mabel had taken a liking to the ship and all the mysteries, although she didn't understand most of the stuff they encountered.

Dipper wasn't exactly sure what was on the agenda today, or tonight as it was late at night. Stan had assigned Dipper to the night shift with a friend of his, Wendy.

The two of them were in charge of guiding the ship at night. They had a couple of other crew members, but they were generally alone for the most part.

Dipper got up and pulled on a coat, as it often got cold at night. He stood up and walked out to the deck, seeing Wendy and Stan were already there looking over a map.

"Good, you're awake." Stan started, "It's supposed to be a bit stormy tonight, so be careful, avoid these sections in the south and we should avoid it."

"But we need to go south to get to land. We need a restock in supplies." Dipper said.

"We're going to have to take the long way or go north and hope to find a city that can. Give us the supplies that we need." Stan said.

"How can the storm be so bad that we have to change course?" Wendy asked.

"Not sure, probably some sort of magical creature causing it. Regardless, we should do our best to avoid it." Stan said. He pointed to a southern route on the map.

"If we take this route, we should be out of range if the storm and it would get us to the main city we stock up at. It would be our best bet if we want to stay on course." Stan said.

"We can take that one then. Can you navigate while I steer Dipper?" Wendy asked. Dipper nodded. Stan gave him the map. Dipper and Wendy both went up to the helm, Wendy behind the wheel. Dipper sat on a barrel, next to Wendy, examining the map.

"Shouldn't be that eventful tonight. This route Stan set us up with seems to avoid those storm clouds." Dipper said, gesturing to the storm clouds off in the distance.
