"Are you okay?"Edwin asked.
Edwin was one of the few friends I had; but to him he wanted more than just friendship to exist between us, anyway I paid no attention to that.
He spent his part time at the ice cream shop assisting his parents to manage it, this was one of the many businesses they owned. We both went to the same school, though he was one class ahead of me.
"I'm okay! I replied.
"Are you sure?" he asked.
"Yeah sure!" Why ask ? I asked.
"You seem dull today,"he replied looking straight into my eyes.
"It's nothing! I'm really okay," I said faking a smile.
"If you say so,"he said.
"And by the way where have you left Jay?" he asked handing me over the ice cream that I had ordered.
"He could not make it today." I replied taking the two ice creams from his hands and handing him over the money with the other hand.
It was a usual routine for us to pass by the ice cream shop and buy two ice cream each before we left to Jayne's shop and help her close up.
Jayne sold milk at a shop just across the road from the ice cream shop. Due to her age that was the only job that was not tedious for her.
The job wasn't raising enough money to cater for all our expenses, that's why I had to work during my part time to help out with the expenses.
"See you tomorrow Edwin,"I said as I hurried out of the shop.
"Okay my love!he responded.
*I giggled.
"Hello grandma! I missed you."I said fluttering.
"Am fine dear, you took so long!"she said, and why is Jay not with you?she asked.
"He could not make it today,"I responded as I continued to help close up the shop.
