Not Sorry I Left

Chapter 13

"Are you going at the bakery?" Jay asked.

"No! Actually Mr Smith gave me a three day leave." I replied.

"Why?"he asked.

"I told him about the contest." I replied.

"Ooh!"

"You know if I was the one him I would not give you a leave."he said laughing.

"You know what....Thank God you are not my boss." I replied smiling.

"And by the way I have some good news for you.... But first tell me where have you been since Saturday that you had to switch of your phone?"I asked.

"Noo!... first tell me the good news first."he said.

"No! I replied.

"Please!!!"

"It's still a No."

"Ugh fine fine."

"My grandmother was sick so my mum and I had to leave town and go check on her. My phone battery was dead and at my grandmother's place the network their is too low so there was no need for me to carry my phone."he said.

"Is she okay now?"I asked.

"Yes."

"You know how you got me worried."I said.

"I'm sorry!"he said hugging me.

"Please!!forgive me."

"Please!!!!"

"I will make it up to you ... In fact today I will buy ice for you."he said.

"Okay then I forgive you, promise you won't repeat that again."

"I promise." he said raising his hand up.

"Okay now tell me the good news." he said anxiously.

"No!"

" I won't." I said.

"Please!!!"

"I will do anything for you."he said trying to persuade me.

"Really??" I asked.

"Yes! anything." he replied.

"Yesterday I attended a party at Emma's place and guess who was the guest at the party?" I asked.

"You know I am not good at guessing please tell me."he said.

"Okay let me give you a clue."I said.

"Okay."

"Your favorite celebrity." I said raising my eye brows.

"Robert clerk!" he said shouting.

"Yes him." I replied smiling.

"Ooh my God! What!!" he said jumping up and down placing his hands on his mouth surprised.

"Hey be quiet everybody is looking at us." I said to him trying to calm him down.

"Ooh my I can't believe this... Why did you not call me?" he asked.

"I tried but....

"Tell me how he looked like???"

"He is very handsome and .....

"I know!" he said interrupting me.

"In fact I took a photo with him... here it is." I said showing him the photos from my phone.

"Ooh my you even got the chance to talk to him?"he asked.

"Yes!"

"You have to send me this photos." he said handing me my phone back.

"Sure no prob....

"I feel like crying."he said.

"No don't there is always a next time." I said trying to assure him.

His face had now changed to sorrow.

"Remember that we are on the road you can't cry here everybody will laugh at you or do you want to embarrass yourself ?" I asked trying to convince him.

"Of course not." he replied laughing.

"We meet again." Edwin said with a huge smile on his face as we entered the ice cream shop.

"Give me two vanilla please."I said pretending not to hear what he just said.

"Jay where have you been ?" Edwin asked.

"At my grandmother's."he replied.

"Give me the same." he added.

"Is she alright ?" Edwin asked concerned.

"Yeah!" Jay replied handing him over the money.

"Hers too." he added.

"Wow!" I see today  it's your treat." Edwin said returning the change.

"Jay lets go." I said walking out of the shop.

"Okay!" he responded trailing me.

"Hey grandma."

"Hello dear."

"Hello grandma."

"Hello son."

"Where had you gone to?"

"I had gone to visit my grandmother."

"How is she?"

" She is alright."

"I'm glad to hear that."

As usual we helped Jayne close the shop.....

"See you tomorrow Jay."I said waving at him.

"You too." he replied.
