Zale's POV:
I rub my eyes, groaning in pain. My head was pounding from the wipe out the storm gave me. Mother should've told me to prepare myself for the biggest storm in the ocean so I wouldn't waste time recovering from it!
Once I caught my breath; I swirl around, looking everywhere for the princess. I had to find her before anyone else finds her or she drowns. If she does our plan will be ruin!
"Wait... Can she drown?" I ask myself, "She is the daughter of a mermaid..." I shrug. Better not waste time to find out.
"Where is she?!" I hiss, going this way and that. I stop to take a moment. I had circled the entire area where the ship was and found no sign of any human form.
"She has to be here somewhere," I tell myself. I spin around slowly; eyes roaming the dark underwater. It was difficult to see anything with very little light.
There! I think to myself. I squint to see a girl sinking to the bottom. Even though its dark I can see fiery red hair, floating in the waters.
I swim towards her and scoop her in my arms and carry her to the surface. Once my head was above water; I see the princess's ship burning in flames. I hear wood crackling and watch as the ship crumbles.
"Princess Lana! Princess Lana!" I hear men shout, desperately looking for their princess.
I went in the opposite direction, swimming away from them. They will be suspicious if they see a strange and unfamiliar boy in the middle of the ocean.
I can swim to the kingdom of Oceanlan. We were already close. I wish I could say I can swim back to my home in Exile Waters, but I knew my tenacles could not handle that.
I look down at the princess. She was asleep and breathing which is good. I take in a breath, my tentacles swirling around me excitedly. I had her. I can kill her right now.
No. We need her for the plan. I think to myself. I scowl, it was so easy right now! So easy! I shake my head angryily, and continue to swim.
Keeping the princess's head above water as I picked up the paste. Hopefully she will stay knocked til we get her home.

I look up at the castle, the morning sun gleaming on its marble towers. A smile spread on my lips as I imagine the things I'll do. The things I'll have when mother and I take over Oceanlan.I swim to the shore, taking in a deep breath before I crawl out of the water with the princess still in my arms. I lay her down on the sand and I sprawl down next to her as I wait for the transformation to begin.
Suddenly I feel pain shoot through my body. I yell in pain as I felt my tentacles start to shrink and stick to one an another, forming two legs.
I gasp for air, relieve that the pain didn't last for long. I groan, "Ow..." I rub my hands on my new legs. I grimace at how funny they look and feel. It was so uncomfortable!
My eyes widen when I realized that I had no clothes on. "Motherr!" I groan, she didn't tell me that when I get legs I will basically be naked. My eyes roam around the beach, looking for any sort of cloth to cover myself in.
"Aha!" I got up clumsily and quickly stumble towards a sails cloth caught up in a tree. It wasn't that high up so I caught the corner and yank on it. I hear a rip and the sail falls into my waiting arms.
I shrug, "I guess you'll just have to do," I say as I wrap the cloth around my waist, tying the corner ends. The ends hung past my knees just by a few inches.
I sigh in relief, that would've been very inappropriate and embarressing. Thank the seas she was still asleep.
Then I heard a gasp for breath and coughing from behind me. I freeze and turn around. The princess was sitting up, eyes widen as she looks around her.
She doesn't seem to see me when she asks, "H-how did I get back here?" She seems to ask herself.
"I brought you here," I answer.
Her head snaps to my direction. Her eyes widen in surprise; realizing she wasn't alone. "What about the crew and captain? And my guards? Are they alright?" She spits out, with a sound of panic in her voice.
"They're fine, trust me. I saw them on boats."
She breathes in a sigh of relief. She turns to the ground and covers her eyes with her hands. I take a few unsteady steps toward her.
And I almost fall but I quickly caught myself and stood in front of her so I could look into her blue eyes that looked like mist. I smile at her, though on the inside; I wanted to kill her right now and be over it, but that is not the plan.
"Are you all right?" I asks the daughter of my ememy.
She stares at me, "Y-yes," she says "You saved my life. Thank you!" She says gratefully.
My smile widen, "It's a good thing that storm was there or we wouldn't have the pleasure of meeting."
Her cheeks tint red, "I'm Lana," she says, "And what's your name?"
I bowed with a flourish, "The name's Zale, your royal Highness," I try not to laugh at the stupidity I felt doing that.
She stands up, wobbling alittle but she stands tall and proud, "I owe you my life, Zale. My parents would be very happy to reward you for saving my life."
She frowns as she looks me up and down. I guess she realized that I look funny. "Why are you wearing a sail?" She asks.
"I had..." I clear my throat, "Lost my clothes, your Highness. Thankfully I had found this or this else this would be very awkward. And not how I would like our first impressions to go as."
She laughs, a laugh that sounds like music... I shake my head and straighten. I will not be fooled by her beauty.
Not that she is even remotely pretty.
"Well if you'll come with me I am sure my father will loan you some clothes to wear." She says with a smile.
I sigh, "Thank you, your Highness. That will be very nice." She nods and gestures for me to follow as she turns and walks away.
"Uh..." I look down at my strange new legs. I wish I was able to practice using them before she woke up.
I take some steps forward. Feeling unbalance on the burning hot sand that was not solid. "Whoa!" I yell as I feel my foot trip on my ankle and I fall to the sand.
"Are you okay?" Lana runs to my side and helps me up.
"I'm fine," I tell her as I take in fake deep breaths, "Just exhausted, your highness. From all that swimming."
"Here let me help you then," she says as she takes my arm and helps me walk. I want to shake her off, but she was standing here and helping me walk; if she leaves I will fall down.
"Oh and call me Lana," she adds as we start to walk, "You are the one that saved me so you have the right to call me by my name."
"Okay. Lana," I say.
And I'll also be the one to end your life.
