Shawn leaned against the counter and I stood thinking of what I could make for dinner. Pasta was the only easy option for the both of us to make together.

"Can you cut some peppers?" I asked and he shrugged.

I placed a chopping board in front of him with three peppers and a knife. "I'll show you how to do it and then you can do it" I say and he nods as he stood behind me peering over my shoulder.

"Be patient and relaxed" I says as I cut the stem out and started slicing the red peppers smoothly and evenly. I put the sliced ones into a plate as I threw the other bits away.

"Now your turn" I say as I handed him the knife.

I turned around to start the kettle and then boil the water for the pasta. Shawn seemed to be getting frustrated as I could hear him grunting quietly. "Be patient and careful" I reminded him.

I poured the kettle water into the raw pasta so it could cook and soften.

Suddenly, I heard a loud thud which made me jump slightly. I turned around the see the knife throw into the wall and the peppers scattered across the counter. Shawn stood with his fists clenched in anger.

"What happened?" I asked as I stood cleaning up the peppers.

"Tried to be fucking patient but they wouldn't cut like yours" he snaps angrily.

"I can see how patient you were" I chuckled but he shook his head.

"These are slightly weird shapes but we can still eat them, don't beat yourself up about it" I say as I put them on to the plate.

"You need to relax it was just peppers Shawn, it doesn't have to be perfect" I say as I placed my hand on his arm and he sighed.

"You're getting worked up for no reason" I say and he stared at my hand on his arm which I quickly removed.

"Do you just want to wash the dishes after I cook?" I asked and he nodded.

The way to calm his crazy ass down was to convince him everything was fine. I was thankful it work and he didn't end up stabbing me for trying to calm him down.

While I prepared dinner he helped stir and do small things here and there which was good. "That's not how you stir" he says snatching the spoon from me.

"Hey give that back!" I say as I pulled it from it which turned into a tug-o-war battle of us pulling for it. He was tugging it so strongly and I was trying my best to pull it back, and when he did let go of the spoon it led to me stumbling back.

"I know how to stir, go get some plates out" I say and he nodded as he started pulling some plates out and then helped me plate up the delicious smelling pasta.

Cole and Lance walked in chatting away before they took their seats. "Hope you haven't poisoned it cooking with Shawn" Cole says and I laughed.

"I keep my promises" I grinned as I handed their plates to them.

"Okay why is there a knife in the wall?" Lance laughed.

"We had an incident with the peppers" I say and they both laughed.

"Is that why half of them are odd shapes" Cole says and Shawn huffed.

"If you want a mouth to eat with I suggest you shut it" Shawn snapped and I kicked his leg making him snap his head up.

'Stop' I mouthed to him with a head gesture which made him scowl as he started eating.

"I'm surprised that you both didn't kill each other in here" Lance says from beside me.fa

"I'm surprised too" I laughed as I started eating.

Dinner was over and both Cole and Lance left the kitchen and I turned to him with all the messy dishes to clean. "You can wash and I'll dry" I say as I handed him the dishes.

"This is the first time in four years I've washed the dishes" he says and I was surprised.

"Really?" I asked as I propped myself up on the counter.

"Mmhmm because it's always done for me" he says and I nodded.

"Maybe we should have a chore chart so it's fair on everyone" I say and he rolled his eyes.

"Maybe I should stop telling you things" he laughs as he handed me a plate which I dried.

"Guess you had fun playing twister?" I asked and he shrugged.

"Don't give me that I know you had fun" I grinned as I dried a few more plates as he handed them.

"Maybe I did have fun" He says.

"What happened to 'this is not a children's playgroup?'" I asked re-quoting his words from before.

He turned around after turning the faucet off and drying his hands before he leaned on the counter right next to me. The proximity between us was so close as I was drying dishes.

"I guess you proved me wrong princess" he says and I looked up to see a smile on his lips which was barely ever seen.

I smiled proudly as I hopped off the counter and put all the dishes away. I dried my hands and then let out a loud yawn which then caused Shawn to yawn too.

"Time to go to bed and sleep to the sound of this rain" I say as we both walked out of the kitchen.

"It literally has been raining all day, hasn't it?" He says and I nodded.

"I like it though" I say and he nodded as we walked up the stairs.

"I have a feeling that we're going to be cooking pasta all week because that's all I can make and cereal" I say and he laughed.

"I cannot cook either so we might just starve" he says and I giggled.

"Or we could order a pizza?" I hummed as I nudged his shoulder.

"No we are not ordering pizza" he says and I frowned.

"You're a party-pooper" I say and he groaned.

"Well I played today didn't I?" He defends.

"Can't disagree with that" I say and he laughed.

"I didn't know cooking and cleaning would make you this tired" I say as I stretched and reached at the end of my hall to my room.

"Well good night Shawn, see you tomorrow" I smiled as I opened my door.

"Good night princess" he mumbles as he smiled and then walked off to his room.

I shut my door and then changed into my pyjamas which was a huge over sized shirt. I stretched before landing into the huge cold bed. It was freezing in the room due to the cold weather outside so I had to turn the heating on.

I smiled as I laid down hearing the soft patter of the rain hitting the window. It was nice and calming which helped me fall asleep.

Today was good and I hoped to see a better side of Shawn like this...
