"Because Ashton killed my dad" he says just above a whisper.

I froze at his answer before he looked up at me and my heart melted in sympathy.

"Oh my God, I'm so sorry Shawn" I apologised.

"It's fine"

"I'm sorry" I apologised again and he shook his head.

"So that why I'm after him and his whole gang. As well as that I'm protecting you too because Ashton's dad killed you dad" he says and I froze for a second.

"But why you?"

"You dad and my dad were best friends, he took the bullet for my dad and saved his life. So my dad in return said that we have to protect his family."

"So when I found out you were Steve's daughter, of course I had to return the favour" he admits.

This was a new revelation and a shock.

"All I can say is thank you" I say and he smiles.

"Wow this is actually a lot to take in" I breathe out and he nods.

"I know but don't worry your pretty little head about it, now I've got some work to do" he says and I nodded.

"I'll leave you in peace to work" I say and he continued looking at his work.

I stood up and before I could leave I made my way around to him and wrapped my arms around his neck, before placing a kiss on his cheek. I let go of him and he pulled me back down.

"You can't just kiss my cheek and leave" he says turning his chair and pulling me straight into his lap.

I giggled as I steadied myself putting my arms around him as I place a kiss on his lips. "Are you staying in my room tonight?" I ask and he nodded against my lips.

"Well now we don't have to hide from Lance and Cole so I'll be staying in your room a lot more" he smirked and I laughed.

"Maybe we can do more then sleeping" he says and I grinned.

"Let's have a pillow fight and do face masks" I say and he groaned.

The door suddenly opened Lance and Cole walked in with a shriek. "Jesus if you're going to fuck don't do it openly!" Lance yelled.

"Shut up" Shawn laughed at them as they approached.

"We've got some paperwork from security here" they says putting the papers down.

"I'll leave you guys to work" I say as I pushed myself off Shawn and stood up making my way out of the office.

"You guys seem pretty cosy" Lance smirked and I rolled my eyes.

"I hate talking about this stuff" I groaned and they laughed.

"Aww is little Shawnie shy?" Cole cooed and I threw my stapler at him which he ducked and missed.

"Aww have you got butterflies in your tummy?" Lance adds and they continued baby talking and I fake gagged.

"You guys make me sick" I spat at them while trying to focus on the paperwork.

"You say that it makes you sick but I bet when you guys are alone, you talk like that to each other" he says and I rolled my eyes.

"We do not! so shut up" I say and they laughed knowing they were getting under my skin.

After we got back on focus we looked at the paperwork security sent over. "We need more shipment but they're not sure how because Ashton's groups is following us around" Cole says.

"They literally have a fort out side the HQ" Lance says and I sighed.

"Well we need the shipment somehow asap" I say and they nodded.

"Maybe we could get it sent from India. Our group down there can bring us some up" Lance suggests and I nodded.

"I'll get in contact with Ranvir and see what he suggests" I say and they nodded.

They left the office and I stayed back and finished off the work before I stood up took myself downstairs. I went into the kitchen where there was cookies on a tray and I helped myself to one.

I sat watching Cole prepare dinner and Elle help him, while I ate this. I took one bite of this rock hard cookie and I spat it out immediately.

"This cookie tastes like shit, Cole when did your cookies come out this bad?" I say and they both turned around to look at me.

"I made them" Elle says and I froze suddenly and it felt like I just died.

Fuck.

Shit.

She looked like she was about to cry and Cole was just 'ooing' which was more annoying. I jumped out my seat racing to her as I pulled her into my arms.

"I was just kidding my sweet peach, it was great not that bad" I cooed kissing her cheek.

Sweet peach. Where the fuck did that come from?

"I know you don't like it" she frowned.

"You don't have to lie to me" she says with a pout as her eye started watering.

I feel like such an asshole right now. Why couldn't I keep my mouth shut?

"I was kidding" I say and she shook her head pushing me off her as she sniffles and turned her back to me to help with the dinner.

I looked at Cole who shook his head before tried to hold in his laugh.

"It's okay Elle I like them" he says as he wrapped an arm around her only making me look like more of an asshole.

"I'm sorry I was just kidding, I never meant to hurt your feelings" I say as I wrapped my arm around her waist and started kissing her again but she pushed me off.

"I'll eat one to show you how much I like" I say and they turned to watch me eat the cookie.

I wanted to be sick but I swallowed it and looked at her before forcing a smile. They suddenly started laughing in fits like crazy making me confused.

"Why are you laughing?" I asked as they continued laughing.

"Because they're dog biscuits" she says and I spat it out immediately washing my mouth out in the sink.

"Why the fuck did you get dog biscuits?" I exclaimed as they continued to laugh.

"I brought them to show Elle how stupid Lance is and how he would eat them without knowing they're dog biscuits" Cole says and Elle laughed.

"But you're the stupid one" He added and they laughed.

"You are evil" I say and Elle laughed before coming to wrap her arms around me.

"I'm sorry sweet peach" she mocked and I rolled my eyes. Cole was laughing in the back and I groaned as I stared at him as he laughed.

"Give me a kiss and I'll forgive you" I say as I leaned down and she place her finger on my lips.

"Not with that dog breath" she says and Cole started laughing until he was on the floor.

I frowned but then Lance walked in, we all froze and watch him taking a dog biscuit from the tray before eating it. He didn't react but continued chewing it like normal.

"Lance they're dog biscuits" I say and he froze for a second before he started chewing again with a shrug.

We all started laughing at him and he even started laughing at himself...
