The world stopped around him. His chest began to close as two soldiers stepped out of the truck and walked over to where winter was sat. Winter was the best, he only flaw was that once she found a bomb she had to be dragged away from it as if she thought it was hers. Elliott bent down and grabbed her chain. He tugged it slightly but she didn't budge. Elliott grabbed her by the waist and dragged her back a bit, hanging her off to a younger soldier behind him. He bent down and gently moved the grass around the contraption. Now, in full view was a small detonator. Just inches from where he had stepped. Two other men kneeled down and he could hear them exhale. Rain, a genius in bombs and detonators came over holding a large black bag. She began disabling the bomb and succeeded quickly. Then, they continued their mission. Elliott walked slower now, the vehicles still following close behind. Winter hasn't lost focus, he nose was to the ground and she was sniffing away. Everything was fine until Elliott could hear barking his eyes widened and he stopped, he motioned for someone to come over and immediately handed the leash off to them. He ran towards the sound. It was forty, he was tipping and growling and pulling against his leash. "What's going on?!" He asked the handler. "I don't know! He's never done this!" "Go get winter and keep going." Elliott told them, they quickly nodded and ran the other way. Elliott grabbed forty's head and looked at him in the eyes. The dog was going crazy, nothing he had ever seen before. "Hey hey forty. Forty I need you to calm down." If forty didn't calm down they were at risk of being attacked. Elliott quickly realized something was very wrong when winter began to do the same thing. "Sit. Stay." Elliott ran over to winter, leaving forty behind. Elliott grabbed winter from the man and looked at him. He didn't recognize the man at all. His hand creeped behind his back and he began to signal. Hoping someone would see it. He tried to act normal, like there was something wrong with the dogs but Elliott knew exactly what wa seeing with them. That's when he noticed Leo's eyes get wide. He must've realized what Elliott was trying to say and Leo immediately stood up and shot the man in the head with his gun. Luckily it had a silencer so there cover wouldn't be blown. The other soldiers gasped, and few began to cry. "I need someone to take forty." Elliott said quickly, his voice was shaking and he was pale. Leo stood up and jumped out of the Jeep. He walked to forty who was now calm and they continued to walk. Even slower now, leaving the dead imposter behind. How the mad managed to hide no one really knows, but thank god for the loyalty of a dog because if not for forty and winter they would probably be dead.....
