I'm getting a divorce, are you in LA?

She didn't know how she could answer that. She couldn't even process the text. She was puzzled at first; yes, she realized they were having problems with the marriage even back then when they had started filming the first movie but he had hardly complained to her. Maybe it was uncomfortable to talk about your marriage problems to your co-star who you usually get naked with. He had talked about it vaguely when she asked but nothing had ever led to the conclusion of a divorce. Yet if she rationalized it, she was always afraid to ask too deep about the marriage. Then there was sadness for him because no doubt he would not be able to see the girls all the time if Jamie and Amelia were not living in the same house. Then came confusion, pity for the girls and lastly elation. Why was she elated, she had no idea. Yes, she had once had a crush on him, scratch that she was absolutely attracted to him and maybe even infatuated. But that was years ago, she had fallen in and out of love plenty of time. She had known from that fateful day after the audition that he was married, as much as she had silently hoped that he would be attracted to her also she knew it could never happen. She would rather die than be a home wrecker.

Now the situation had changed, he was free. But why should it matter? She was currently close to another guy; she shouldn't care. She contemplated the best way to answer before she felt her phone was snatched away from her hands. It was Grace, she was sitting next to her on her lounger, trying to catch as much sun as possible. Her long blonde hair was swept to the side as she read the text on her phone. Dakota tried to snatch her phone back before she had heard Grace's gasp.

Her mom's and Stella's also got out of their own loungers to see what was happening. "What is it, Grace?" Stella asked, pushing her sunglasses to the top of her head.

Stella shook her head, the shock was still palpable on her face. "He's getting a divorce? Seriously?"

Dakota shrugged. "Seems like it."

Stella impatiently snatched the phone from Grace and the other girl let her. "OMG! Are you serious? Why now?"

"Why not now?"

Stella bristled. "Well if he had gotten rid of the witch when you guys were shooting Darker together, I reckon you guys would have a chance."

Dakota frowned. "What are you talking about?"

Her mom read the text from behind Stella and chuckled. "Come on, Coqui. We all knew you had a crush on him."

She shook her head. She had a close friendship with Jamie, her family knew that. She often brought him along to her dinner whenever her family and friends came to visit or if he was in LA during press season. But she had never divulge of her feelings to her family since nothing would come out of it anyway. "Who said that?"

Stella offered her a sympathetic smile. "The way you see him and the way you talk to him, like he was the most interesting man in the room certainly told us that."

Dakota lowered the sunglasses atop her head and went back to lay in her lounger. "You guys are dreaming."

Grace scoffed. "If we got it dead wrong, then why do you seem so defensive?"

"Am not. I just don't like to be accused of something I don't feel."

Her mom moved from the lounger next to Stella's to take a sit on Dakota's. She patted Dakota's knees as she offered her a smile. "It's okay to admit you have feelings for the man. No body can fault you, Jamie's a good man."

She shook her head. "It wasn't like that."

It was Stella's turn to shake her head. "Are you seriously trying to lie to us?"
