Chapter 3 - Betrayal Is Everywhere

Sparrow circles around Jay, watching him, waiting for him to make a move. Jay growls and lunges for Sparrow, but she moves and grabs him by the throat. Jay growls and rolls over on top of Sparrow, biting her shoulder blade. Sparrow howls in pain, causing Saphire to jump. She wanted this to end and she wanted Sparrow to end it.

Jay lost his concentration when Saphire jumped and Sparrow used this opportunity to sink her teeth into Jay's shoulder blade and neck, while clawing his stomach. Jay howls in pain, as Sparrow continues to do this until he was torn to shreds. "Enough!" Saphire yells, causing Sparrow to stop immediately. "Shift back now!" Saphire growls, her ice blue eyes shining in the moonlight. Sparrow complies, shifting back. One of the pack's omegas, Lindsey, hands Sparrow a towel since she was covered in crimson. "Does anyone object to Sparrow being the alpha?" Saphire asks darkly. "No one? Good. Submit," Saphire growls, and at that, everyone submitted, leaving only the luna and alpha standing.

Saphire lead Sparrow into the pack house and as soon as they get inside, Saphire pins Sparrow against the wall, kissing her harshly. Sparrow gasps as Saphire pulls away. "What was that for?" Sparrow asks, laughing. "That was for scaring me... let me stitch your wound," Saphire says. "After this," Sparrow says, kissing Saphire hard, biting her lip softly, then pulling away. "Do you think anyone knows you cheated on Jay with me?" Sparrow asks. "No, they don't and for all they need to know is that we are 'slowly falling in love' even if we are already in love," Saphire says as she leads Sparrow into the bathroom. Saphire turns the bath on, filling it with warm bubbly water. "Undress and get in the water. I can't let you in the bed, all bloody... also it will help me stitch you up better," Saphire says, smiling, causing Sparrow to laugh. "You're weird," Sparrow says, undressing and getting into the tub. "So, Sparrow we need to talk about the pack," Saphire says. "About what?" Sparrow questions, while washing the blood off. "They won't like that there's no male leader... are you ready for people to challenge your authority?" Saphire asks. "I'm ready for anything, my jewel," Sparrow says, smiling. "Good. Listen, I'm not going to bed, but you are welcome to go to bed," Saphire says, as she gets what she needs to stitch Sparrow's shoulder. After she gets it, she dries Sparrow's shoulder, stitching it up. After she finishes, she kisses Sparrow goodbye and goes outside, sighing. Jay's body had been removed and the only one left in the clearing, was Erik, an omega. "Luna," he says, smiling. "Erik," she says wearily.

Erik should've been a warrior, but she made him an omega instead. "I wanted to invite you to drinks," Erik says. "I don't drink," Saphire says. "Oh fine. No alcohol, just soda," Erik says, smiling. "Fine, but I can't stay long," she says, following Erik into his bar. "I see you fixed up the place," Saphire says. "Yes I did. Do you like it?" Erik asks, pouring Saphire a shirley temple. "Yes, I do," she says, taking a sip of her drink. "Good," Erik says, smiling. Erik and Saphire keep small talk as Saphire finishes her drink.

After Saphire finishes her drink, she stands up, holding her head. "Erik, what did you do to my drink?" Saphire growls, as she falls to the ground. "Nothing you don't deserve," Erik says, as Saphire goes limp. He had paralyzed her, so she couldn't fight and so she would stay awake as he impregnated her with two kids.

Erik left Saphire there and went to his place, leaving Saphire to force herself up and go to her house, holding back her tears. Saphire walks to the bathroom and showers. She had decided she will exile Erik for touching her. She also refused to be pushed around.

As soon as the whole pack showed up, Saphire pulled Sparrow and herself onto a large rock that overlooked her territory and the Red Fang's. "We have a traitor in our midst!" Saphire growls. Her eyes were lit in anger as she spoke. "What Saphire? What do you mean?" Sparrow says, but Saphire ignores her. "Erik, you will go into exile and wear the traitor mark!" Saphire growls, as she jumps from the rock, shifting in mid-air and pinning Erik to the ground and biting his neck, he yelps, shifting so he could try to fight and as he did, Saphire scratches and bites his flank, marking him a traitor and just for the necessity of it, she scratches his left eye, then backs up. "Get off my territory," she growls, shifting back, watching as Erik ran off. Into the Red Fang territory.
